Guzzle is a minor character in the Transformers franchise, especially Generation One. The original version of the character came from the 1988 toyline.

Marvel Comics[]

Guzzle first appeared in the UK-exclusive story "Enemy Action", where he and the other Sparkabots, Fizzle and Sizzle, had been sent to Earth by Springer to monitor Galvatron, who had been encased in lava. They found that Galvatron had broken free and was attempting to contact Shockwave's Earth Decepticons. Before they could intervene, they were attacked by the Firecons, who had also been sent from Cybertron to contact Galvatron. During the battle that followed, Guzzle managed to take down Cindersaur, but the encounter came to an abrupt end when Galvatron reappeared and made it clear he had no interest in the conflict.

Guzzle and the others returned in "Salvage", where they freed Ultra Magnus from the lava for assistance. They failed to stop Shockwave retrieving and repairing Megatron, and the Sparkabots took another beating from Galvatron before Ultra Magnus came to their aid. In the subsequent "City of Fear" storyline, the group returned to Cybertron only to find the city of Kalis deserted except for zombies. Shutting down the zombies' control signal, they followed it to an underground bunker where they joined forces with the Wreckers and learned the insane Autobot scientist Flame was planning to fire up an unstable engine which would destroy the whole planet. The scheme was eventually foiled by the zombified Wrecker leader Impactor.

Guzzle and the other Sparkabots helped Ultra Magnus investigate the mysterious death of an Autobot and uncover that the Firecons were assisting the alien Zabra in organising gladiatorial games with Autobot prisoners. Although Ultra Magnus told the Sparkabots to go and join the Wreckers, who were transporting to Earth to confront Galvatron, they ended up staying and helping him defeat Zabra and his Decepticon allies.

Guzzle made his Marvel US debut in Issue #46, among the Autobots being held prisoner by the Firecons on Cybertron. His only other appearance was in Issue #67, in an alternate future where Cybertron had been destroyed and the Decepticons had conquered North America. Guzzle was one of the handful of surviving Autobots led by Prowl who were planning a last ditch assault on Galvatron's base. Seeing Cyclonus and Scourge en route, Guzzle, along with Getaway and Chainclaw, was directed to attack them as a diversion. The trio managed to kill Scourge, but Guzzle was killed by Cyclonus smashing a hand through his chest.
