The Humanoid Electronic Lab Partner Robot, or H.E.L.P.eR., is a robot who was created by Jonas Venture to care for his son Rusty. Much like the rest of the late Jonas Venture's creations however, H.E.L.P.eR. has fallen into a state of disrepair; as such, he is often prone to malfunctions. For a being of artificial intelligence, H.E.L.P.eR. is incredibly sensitive and his actions are greatly influenced by his own emotions. Despite being neglected, H.E.L.P.eR. remains one of the most loyal defenders of the Venture Clan, and has risked his life on numerous occasions to protect his family.
H.E.L.P.eR. has a retractable auto-gyro rotor and propulsive propeller that makes him capable of flight. He can carry at least one Brock Samson-sized/250-lb. payload. He also co-pilots the X-1 and in one case even acted as the landing gear, causing him great damage. He has doubled as a dialysis machine for Doctor Venture, and apparently performed the transplant surgery that gave him his son's kidneys.
H.E.L.P.eR. is armed with four machine guns behind his chest plate. He also packs a plasma cutter and a rotating blade. Most of the time these weapons are offline. Fortunately they were working long enough to hold off a Guild Blackout Team while most of Dr. Venture escaped to the Panic Room. He is apparently ready to use these weapons at the drop of a hat, as he often talks about the coming war between humanity and the Brotherhood of Machines.
H.E.L.P.eR. speaks in a series of nonsensical tweets, beeps and digital whines, similar to R2-D2. Despite this apparent communication barrier, Brock and the Ventures appear to be able to understand him perfectly. They appear to be the only ones because The Monarch and his henchmen have difficulty interrogating H.E.L.P.eR. for this very reason.
The trusty Venture robot appears to have musical pretensions as well, playing annoyingly repetitive drums for Hank and Dermott's band. He also often debated Led Zeppelin with Brock: contrary to Samson's opinions, H.E.L.P.eR. believes that Zeppelin were merely "jock rock".
H.E.L.P.eR. was later abducted by the Monarch and rigged with an explosive intended to kill Dr. Venture. After escaping and hijacking his Monarchmobile, with 21 and 24 in the backseat, he exploded killing 24 and launching H.E.L.P.eR.'s head into Brock's chest. He was later separated from Brock and his head was fused with the Walking Eye, causing Dean to fear him.
