Biography[]
Nine years before the Battle of Yavin, Estree was working as a con artist on the planet Daiyu. Estree ran a scam in which he pretended to be a Jedi. Using magnets and remotes to simulate the Force, along with accomplices that he would "mind trick" into letting people into the port, he helped people escape from Daiyu in exchange for a hefty fee. However, unlike most criminals who would simply take the credits and not do what they promised Estree would actually help Force sensitive refugees get to safety by connecting these refugees to an anti-Imperial network called The Path.
When the former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived on the planet in search of the kidnapped Princess Leia, the former Jedi Master immediately seen through his deception. In exchange for Obi-Wan keeping quiet about his scam, he provided Obi-Wan with information on the spice den where Leia was being held. When the Imperial Inquisitor Third Sister arrived hunting for Obi-Wan and Leia she posted a large bounty on Obi-Wan. Finding out about the bounty Estree went to help Obi-Wan and Leia when the passenger space port was locked down, and helped them get on an automated cargo ship to Mapuzo. Estree then delayed the Third Sister long enough to buy Obi-Wan time to escape.
With the Inquistors posting a rather large bounty on his head, Estree fled from Daiyu and went to The Path headquarters on Jabiim, where he again met Obi-Wan and Leia. The Empire tracked them to Jabiim, but The Path was able to escape with Obi-Wan's assistance. With Darth Vader in hot pursuit, Obi-Wan realized that if he took off on his own ship his former apprentice would likely abandon his pursuit of The Path and take off after Obi-Wan. Before Obi-Wan left, Estree promised Obi-Wan that he would see Leia safely home to Alderaan. Estree fulfilled his promise, getting Leia safely home and reunited with her family.
