On 7 April 1945, Hamakaze escorted the battleship Yamato from the Inland Sea on her Operation Ten-Go attack on the Allied forces on Okinawa. She was sunk by aircraft of Task Force 58 and sank 150 miles (280 km) southwest of Nagasaki (30°47′N 128°08′E).
Appearance[]
She wears a short-sleeved white and blue button-up serafuku with a yellow scarf (similar to Yukikaze) on top of a Kagerou-class standard pleated skirt with black pantyhose under everything. On her back is her rigging. Like most of the Kagerou-class, she wears white gloves. She wields two pistol-like guns, one resembles the standard 12.7 cm twin gun, the other resembles an Anti-Air gun.
She has short white hair with her bangs covering her right eye while the other side is held by a hairclip along with blue eyes.
She is noted to have unusually large breasts for her ship class, likely the largest of the Destroyers (possibly a tie with Urakaze).
