Hana Yurikawa is the deuteragonist of the horror-comedy webcomic series Mieruko-chan and its manga and anime adaptations.
Hana is voiced by Kaede Hondo in Japanese, who voiced the teenage Kohaku Tsukishiro from Iroduku: The World in Colors, as well as Hikari Takanashi from Interviews with Monster Girls. She is voiced by Sarah Wiedenheft in English.
Biography[]
Hana is the long-time best friend of Miko Yotsuya serving as her emotional support. Unbeknownst to Miko, Hana possesses a powerful aura that completely eclipses her body. It can even incinerate lesser ghosts. However, this would come with its cons: more malevolent entities hunt Hana for her energy and once she becomes depleted of it, she becomes sickly thus forcing her to eat more (with the added benefit that she does not gain weight due to the spirits ingesting the energy).
Heroic acts[]
- When she meets a young boy, he is distraught that his pet dog ran into an abandoned alley. Due to loving dogs, Hana resolves to save the dog despite her fears.
- In Chapter 30 of the manga, when she notices a young man leaning over a bridge rail, she immediately goes to stop him. When the misunderstanding is cleared up, she assists him in getting his friend's lucky charm back. It is later revealed that the boy was actually considering suicide but he decides to continue living.
Trivia[]
- Her last name means "river of lilies" in Japanese.
