Hanako Urawa (浦和ハナコ in Japanese) is one of the characters of the 2021 roleplay game Blue Archive who studies in Trinity General School and wields an Assault Rifle. She is a member of the Supplementary Lessons Department (or Make-Up Work Club), a club made by Trinity's student council, the Tea Party, to accommodate failing students. However, the club's creation isn't entirely out of pure intentions, and Hanako was one of the first few to find out.
She played as a supporting protagonist throughout the first, second, and third chapters of the main story's third volume, "Eden Treaty", where she and her Make-Up Work Club give their best to pass the Special Evaluation Exam and avoid expulsion while discovering the secrets behind the club's creation and what's going on behind Trinity. She also appeared as a supporting protagonist during the second, third, and fourth chapter of the final volume, "Where All Miracles Begin", where she helped in the handling of a world-ending event alongside many others. She's also a supporting protagonist in one of the side events, "Trinity's Extracurricular Activities", where she and a few others uncover secrets inside the ruins of an uninhabited island.
Personality[]
Despite being part of the Make-Up Work Club, a club for failing students, Hanako possesses incredible intelligence, passing tests as a first-year which third-years would have trouble with. Her level of genius gave her the opportunity to be part of high-level clubs such as the Sisterhood and even a position at the Tea Party, though she refused them as those weren't what she wanted to do. After graduating to second-year, she decided to purposely fail her classes which led her to the Make-Up Work Club. She also has quite the risqué behavior, preferring to stroll around the school in her school swimsuit and making a bunch of raunchy comments whenever she speaks.
It was revealed this was done on purpose to avoid being part of the aforementioned high-level clubs as she didn't want to be involved in politics. In reality, as uncomfortable people are around her, she is actually quite kind and caring. She's willing to drop the act if it meant helping her friends at the Make-Up Work Club and even use her intelligence to support them when necessary.

The swimsuit Hanako wore during the "Trinity's Extracurricular Activities" side event, where she and three other people were assigned by the Sisterhood to investigate old ruins in an uninhabited island that used to belong to the old Sisterhood members. However, it was later revealed this was part of Hanako's plan to enjoy the summertime alongside her friend Koharu Shimoe who she recalled really wanted a vacation.
