Hannibal King is a main character in Blade: Trinity. He is a highly skilled vampire hunter like Blade.
He was portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, in his first superhero role and first Marvel collabration. He also played Deadpool in the X-Men films, Hal Jordan in Green Lantern (2011), Paul Conroy in Buried, Nick Walker in R.I.P.D., Guy in Free Guy, Michael Bryce in The Hitman's Bodyguard, Richard Messner in Smokin' Aces, Cal in IF, and voiced Guy in The Croods, Pikachu in Detective Pikachu and Theo in Turbo.
History[]
Hannibal King was turned into a vampire by Danica Talos, who sought to make him her "little vampire cabana boy," as he puts it. However, he was eventually freed and cured by the Nightstalkers. Since then, he has become a key member of their team, dedicating himself to a personal vendetta against the House of Talos.
When Blade was captured by the FBI, Hannibal led the rescue mission alongside Abigail Whistler, taking down several vampires in the process. Despite his efforts to win Blade's approval, Hannibal is often dismissed by the Daywalker as an immature nuisance with poor humor. At the Nightstalkers' base, Hannibal explains Talos' plan to resurrect the first vampire and seeks Blade's help. Blade agrees, and the trio—Hannibal, Abigail, and Blade—set out to stop Dracula (Drake).
The group tracks Drake to Edgar Vance's studio, where they discover that Drake has killed the psychiatrist and assumed his appearance. Hannibal attempts to attack but is severely injured. Abigail tends to his wounds while Blade pursues Drake.
Unable to continue, Hannibal remains at the Nightstalkers' base. While watching a film in Esperanto, he is seemingly visited by Abraham Whistler, only to realize it is Drake in disguise. Drake kills the other Nightstalkers and kidnaps Hannibal, taking him to Talos' hideout. There, Talos, her brother Asher, and Jarko Grimwood torture Hannibal for information about the Daystar Virus. Hannibal reveals he has a tracking chip implanted under his skin, enabling Blade and Abigail to locate him.
After his rescue, Hannibal encounters Grimwood’s vampire Pomeranian, Pac-Man, and two vampire pit bulls, managing to defeat them by throwing them out a window. He later battles Grimwood, forcing him to bite down on a silver bullet with his golden teeth, killing him. Hannibal then faces Talos but is overpowered. As she strangles him, the Daystar Virus is released, and Hannibal aids in ensuring her demise. Even with the virus unleashed, the vampire threat remains, leaving the Nightstalkers to continue their mission to eradicate them.
