Happy is a supporting protagonist of the manga/anime series Edens Zero by Hiro Mashima. He is the cat-themed partner of Rebecca Bluegarden and is a cyborg whose body was reconstructed after an accident.
He is based off the mascot character of the same name from Mashima's previous work Fairy Tail. Like his predecessor he is also voiced by Rie Kugimiya in the Japanese version of the anime, and by Tia Ballard in the English version,
Appearance[]
He is mostly indistinguishable from his Fairy Tail counterpart in terms of being a blue colored cat, the only two slight differences is that instead of a green napsack he has a B-Cube around his neck and the tip of his tail is colored black instead of white like his Fairy Tail counterpart.
Abilities[]
Due to being a cyborg, Happy's mechanical body is capable of transforming into two small handguns which Rebecca wields that fire ether-type bullets that are intended to stun their opponents and not do any actual to them.
History[]
Hailing from the Planet Excede, Happy grew up as an orphan on Blue Garden with Rebecca a fellow orphan whom like her is unaware of his true origins. The two became inseparable, into one day when Happy was ran over by a drunk truck drive and killed. It was later with the help of Professor Weisz who rebuilt him as a cyborg and despite his initial bitterness upon being reborn, Rebecca assured him they would always remain friends.
Years later at the start of the story he and Rebecca run their own B-Cuber channel Aoneko Channel despite not being that popular. Arriving to explore the robot kingdom of Granbell the two of them met Shiki Granbell who saved the two when the robots revolted (in their secret plan to encourage Shiki to leave Granbell before they all shut down permanently to spare him the pain of losing them).
Following their many adventures Happy, much like Rebecca and Shiki came into the possession of the spaceship Edens Zero, to which Happy is currently part of the crew.
Later when the crew traveled to Universe Zero where their personal histories are different from the other universes, in Happy's case he is not a cyborg as his original death never happened in that universe.

- Happy's inclusion into the series as Rebecca's partner continues the tradition of the main mascot character of Mashima's previous work being used in the following series by the lead female character, much like how Rave Master's Plue was later added as one of Lucy Heartfilia's Celestial Spirits in Fairy Tail.
- In the manga crossover Mashima's HEROES, which is a crossover between all three of these aforementioned series, due to the Fairy Tail version of this character being used in a supporting role, the Edens Zero version was given a minor role (He remains on the Edens Zero ship the entire time). As a result, Rebecca had to use a bow and arrow provided by Erza Scarlet in place of the Happy Blasters to defend herself with.
- As revealed in the "Afterword" of Volume 2 of the manga, originally E.M. Pino the main mascot character of Edens Zero was intended to be used at the beginning of the series. But due to story issues, it resulted in Happy being introduced first with Pino being introduced later.
