Harley Keener is one of the two tritagonists of the 2013 film Iron Man 3 (alongside War Machine), and a minor character in the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame. He is a intelligent boy who lives in the Tennessee, and helped Iron Man when he was attacked by the Mandarin.
He is portrayed by Ty Simpkins, both as a kid, and as an adult.

Harley was born in Tennessee in 2002, and his father left him and his family when Harley was four, leaving him alone with his mother and sister. He is constantly picked up and bullied in school, due to being a "nerd", and mostly by a boy named E.J.
Iron Man 3[]
One day, Harley became aware of an intruder in his garage, and went check it, armed with the potato gun invented by himself. He discovered the intruder was Tony Stark, with his Iron Man armor, with the conscience of J.A.R.V.I.S in it. Harley became amazed, mainly because Tony Stark was a recent victim of a terrorist attack, and was considered dead. Harley gave Stark supplies and supriments, helped him rebuild partially his suit, and, after a conversation, helped him mostly overcome his trauma from 2012 and the New York battle. Tony also helped Harley, giving him a light bomb that can blind someone for a few seconds, to defend him from bullying, after discovering people picked up on him. During a conversation in a restaurant, Tony was approached by a woman named Ellen Brandt, who wanted to arrest him.
This woman had fire powers because she was a part of the Extremis project, and wanted to get Tony Stark killed because of the orders of her master, Aldrich Killian. While Harley back down and got out of the restaurant, but, when he saw a man named Eric Savin, another part of the Extremis project pointing a gun to Stark, he threw a snowball at him, making him miss the shot. Savin then captured Harley, to use him as a hostage, right after Tony killed the Brandt. Tony gave Harley a sign, that meant to use the light bomb he gave him, and he used, blinding Savin long enough to escape and left him with the open guard, so Tony could blast him with his glove from his armor.
After this occurrences, Harley and Stark kept in touch and became close friends. Tony left his armor in Harley's garage so he could examine it, and Harley also overcame bullying, and actually managed to become friend of his former bully, E.J.
Avengers: Endgame[]
In 2018, when Thanos wiped out half of the living beings in the universe, Harley survived the snap, confirmed by his age and appearance in Endgame, and, when Tony Stark sacrificed himself to stop Thanos from killing the entirety of the universe, Harley attended at his funeral, along with many superheroes, close or estranged friends from Stark, and even people that never actually met him in life.

- He is the first child to be a main character in the franchise.
- Harley did not have a comic book counterpart until Iron Man 3 was released. In fact, some years after the release of the latter, a character named and based after Harley was created to the comics, making him one of the very few original characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe that inspired the creation of characters from the comics, and not the other way around.
