Haruichi Izumo is a major supporting character in the science-fiction action manga and anime series Kaiju No. 8. He is a member of the Defence Force's Third Division before he was transferred to the Second Division following the destruction of the Tachikawa Base. As a member of the Izumo family, he is also involved with the Izumo Tech Company, owned by his relatives.
He is voiced by Keisuke Koumoto in Japanese and by Howard Wang in English.
Appearance[]
Haruichi is a young man of regular height with deep cyan-colored hair tied in a knot at the back of his head and eyes of the same colors. As a member of the Defence Force, he wears the standard soldier dark uniform with dark green pads and silver pads on his shoulders, wrists, back waist, and legs.
Personality[]
Haruichi is a carefree, friendly, and observant young man with a distinctive tendency of patience and not the type of individual to rush into things, instead, he prefers to watch from the sidelines and analyze the situation before taking action. He is a crafty individual who is driven to surpass those who do better than him, which often leads to secret and open rivalries with others. Despite his competitive nature, Haruichi is not one to let his emotions get the better of him, and he remains level-headed even in high-pressure situations. In rare occasions, Haruichi has shown to be a bit envious and even curious when one of his comrades, Kafka Hibino, revealed that Mina Ashiro, who is admired by Many within the organization as a prominent leader of the Defence Force, has a close connection as a childhood friend with him, prompting him, Iharu Furuhashi, and Aoi Kaguragi to force Kafka to tell them more about his connection with Mina.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Expert Marksman: Haruichi is shown to be extensively adept at aiming, as shown when he got a three minutes for one of his training shooting sessions like his peers. When he received his bow weapon, he has shown further precisions to shoot down his targets.
