That is all.

My name is Harumi, the Jade Princess. You may think you know my story, but you don't. As a child, the ninja were my heroes. Until the day the Great Devourer attacked Ninjago. Although my parents found a way to save me, they couldn't save themselves. The ninja, my beloved heroes, had failed me. Failed us all. I was adopted by the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago, making me a princess. But becoming royalty couldn't fill the emptiness in my heart. So I began plotting my revenge. I resurrected the greatest enemy the ninja have ever faced — Lord Garmadon. But the results went out of my control. The city was attacked yet again. I couldn't let another family be torn apart like mine was. That's how people think my story ended. But sometimes, an ending is merely a new beginning.
~ Harumi.
You took my parents, YOU TOOK EVERYTHING FROM ME!!!!
~ Harumi to the Overlord after learning he was the one responsible for creating the Great Devourer and the death of her parents.

Harumi, also known as the Quiet One and later the Kabuki Mask, is a major antagonist in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, serving as the main antagonist of Season 8: Sons Of Garmadon, secondary antagonist of Season 9: Hunted, overarching antagonist of Season 13: Master Of The Mountain, as well as the secondary antagonist of Season 15: Crystalized.

She is the founder and original leader of the Sons of Garmadon, and later the second-in-command of the Crystal Army, who is the former Princess of the Royal Family of Ninjago and Lloyd's love interest. She wanted to resurrect Lloyd's father, Garmadon, in his evil form without any of his positive characteristics because she believes he is the ruler Ninjago deserves and wants revenge for the death of her parents during the Great Devourer's rampage.

During Season 9: Hunted, Harumi perished in the collapsing of a building during a battle for control over the Colossus between Lord Garmadon and Skylor, the Elemental Master of Amber. However, unbeknownst to anyone, specifically Garmadon and the Ninja with the expectation of Lloyd and Nya, Harumi was revived by the Crystal King and would resurface in Season 15: Crystalized, serving as the Crystal King’s herald and the leader of his council consisting of the Ninja's other enemies.

In the penultimate episode of the season, "Dragon Form", Harumi ends up redeeming herself after learning that it was the Overlord is the one who corrupted the Great Devourer, which was the same creature that took her parents from her.

She is voiced by Britt McKillip, who also voices Princess Cadence and Dean Cadence in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls, Princess Janessa, Peppermint Girl, Princess Rita, and Princess Melody from the Barbie series, Sabrina Spellman in Sabrina: The Animated Series, Sabrina's Secret Life, and the movie Sabrina: Friends Forever, while her Kabuki mask persona is voiced by Andrew Francis, who also voices Morro and Cole (as of Season 15), Shining Armor from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Max Mcgrath from Max Steel, Linden and Prince Kieran in Barbie series, and MegaMan.EXE from Mega Man NT Warriors, Vert Wheeler in Hot Wheels: Acceleracers, Gill Nexdor in Johnny Test, Lin Chung in Hero 108, and Ty Rux in Dinotrux.

Appearance[]

Harumi had long white hair with long bangs fashioned in a high ponytail (as the Jade Princess), in a bun with chopsticks (disguised as a civilian), or straight bangs and undone (as the Quiet One).

In the Palace, she wore a green kimono, a white cape with red lotus flowers and a collar, a golden headpiece, and kabuki makeup.

As a civilian, she wore green overalls with a dark green hood, a shirt with a similar pattern as her cape underneath and her full lips painted red.

As the Quiet One, she wore black clothing and red face paint over her eyes with no lipstick.

As the Kabuki Mask, she wore black robes, a cloak, and a blue and white kabuki mask to hide her face.

Before losing her biological parents, Harumi was a young child of around 9-10 years old with light blonde hair. As a child, she wore a brown long-sleeved "frog button" shirt like her mother and had bangs and her hair in two braids. After being adopted, she wore a green kimono and makeup but no cape or headpieces.

Personality[]

Originally, Harumi was a very normal child, playing happily with her ninja toys. However, after her parents died, she grew jaded and vengeful towards the ninja, blaming them for letting her parents get killed. Harumi grew increasingly emotionally unstable and bitter due to the lack of parental love and attentiveness to her emotional needs from her adopted parents. She became a master of deception and disguise, pretending to be the benevolent princess of Ninjago for years. In this princess persona, she was very kind-hearted, sweet, and seemingly cared deeply for all of her subjects. However, in her true identity as the Quiet One, Harumi was far more cold, ruthless, and hateful, having no remorse at causing the explosion that killed her adoptive parents. She was also incredibly determined, stopping at nothing to resurrect Garmadon, the person that she saw as a true savior. Nevertheless, Harumi is misguided and a bit delusional when she thought that he is the hero that Ninjago deserves, thus having beliefs that it would be better under his tyrannical rule.

After Garmadon took over the Sons of Garmadon, Harumi seemed comfortable taking the role of second-in-command. However, she began to exhibit signs of fear and distrust of her master, especially after Garmadon destroyed Mr. E. She even had a moment of cowardice when the Colossus rampaged against Skylor. However, Harumi ultimately proved herself to be not completely evil, she had managed to redeem herself as when a family was trapped in the same building as her, she looked remorseful. Despite the danger to herself, she saved the family, all just because she was reminded of how she had suffered the same experience and did not want the child to have the same fate as her.

Just before her death, Harumi, despite clearly being horrified, accepted that she couldn't escape from her fate and gazes at Lloyd in her last moments, who (despite everything she had done to him) was still concerned when he saw Harumi's last moments. However, she reverted back to her vengeful, villainous ways after being resurrected by the Crystal King. As the Kabuki Mask, Harumi kept her true identity a secret to everyone while showing a willingness for cooperation in uniting the Ninja's greatest enemies in revenge against them and their allies.

During her time with the Crystal King, Harumi became somewhat calmer and mellow. Despite her villainous ways, there were moments she hesitated and feels conflicted with some of her decisions. In "The Spider's Design," it appears that she didn't want innocent people getting hurt, as Lloyd mentions. What's more, throughout her time in the Overlord's service, it is frequently show or noted by others that Harumi generally does care for Lloyd, despite her attempt to deny such feelings when the Overlord questioned her, the evil being noting that Lloyd still meant something to her. This is shown when she was caught off-guard by him revealing he still had feelings for her, despite what she put him through. She also made several attempts to try and persuade either Lloyd to join the Council of the Crystal King or the Overlord to spare Lloyd. Indeed, even after the Overlord commanded her to kill Lloyd, Harumi disobeyed him, redirecting the Council, then again trying to persuade Lloyd, asking him to join the Overlord, then restating and asking him instead to join her. She also shows general concern for Lloyd's safety, warning him that if he were to fall from the floating Crystal Island, it would be fatal and it appears she was actually sorry when she apparently "killed" the other Ninja.

After learning that the Overlord was responsible for corrupting the Great Devourer, and therefore being indirectly responsible for the deaths of her parents, Harumi had a sudden change of heart, betraying the Overlord and siding with Lloyd and Garmadon. However, when Garmadon was severely injured and Lloyd was presumably dead for a brief moment, she became distraught and moped in complete shame, implying that she also feels guilty for her actions. This is also the case when Harumi looked sad before being comforted by Lloyd. Following the final destruction of the Overlord, Harumi took part in the rebuilding of the Monastery of Spinjitzu.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

As a child, Harumi lived in Ninjago City with her mother and father and looked up to the Ninja as heroes. However, when the Great Devourer came and destroyed the city, Harumi's parents were killed by the beast, and Harumi became disillusioned with the Ninja for being unable to stop it.

Harumi especially hated Lloyd Garmadon, son of Lord Garmadon, for releasing the Serpentine from their tombs that allowed the Great Devourer to be unleashed in the first place, but came to idolize Lord Garmadon himself for his role in killing the enormous snake and saving Ninjago.

After the trauma of losing her parents, Harumi was temporarily rendered mute, and the rescue team tasked with saving her called her the "Quiet One" because of her catatonic shock. After recovering, Harumi was adopted by the Emperor and Empress of Ninjago, but did not enjoy her new role as princess and carried within her a deep loathing throughout the rest of her childhood and teenage years. She even became more disappointed that Lloyd has purified Lord Garmadon of his evil by defeating the Overlord, and that Garmadon would later sacrifice himself to stop Master Chen and his army.

As time goes by, Harumi began an organization called the Sons of Garmadon, whose goal was to resurrect Garmadon's evil self using the three Oni Masks scattered throughout Ninjago, having become aware that Garmadon was part Oni and would, therefore, be capable of being reborn through a ritual involving them.

Harumi carried this secret with her for an undetermined amount of time, but eventually earned the ire of her caretaker, Hutchins, who warned the Ninja upon their first encounter to stay away from her.

Season 8: Sons of Garmadon[]

The Ninja first encounter Harumi in Ninjago's Palace, where Lloyd attempts to save her from a presumed attack (which was actually just some fireworks going off). Harumi formally greets each of the Ninja, even earning the praise of Nya, who was initially irritated with her. After an inquiry by Jay, Harumi and the royal family reveal that she was adopted by them after her birth parents had died. Lloyd later accidentally stumbles upon her removing her makeup in her private quarters.

After witnessing her escaping the palace while carrying a satchel, Lloyd mistakes her for a kidnapper, although he eventually realizes his mistake. Harumi and Lloyd then have an intimate conversation, and witness Samurai X saving a group of homeless children from an attack by the Sons of Garmadon, with Lloyd grateful that the Ninja is not the only ones looking out for Ninjago. Harumi claims that she likes to sneak out at night to give food to the less fortunate, but Harumi's caretaker, Mr. Hutchins, appears and takes Harumi and Lloyd back to the palace. The next day, the palace is attacked by the Sons of Garmadon, and Harumi and Lloyd escape the palace with the Mask of Deception. They are then attacked by Ultra Violet, who steals the Mask of Deception before Lloyd and Harumi escape onto the Destiny's Bounty. After the events of the palace, Harumi stayed with the ninja on the Destiny's Bounty. While she was there, she takes out a photograph of her as a child with her deceased biological parents and another with the Royal family. Later on, when the ninja go out to chase Mr. E, Harumi tries to go with them but is told by Lloyd to stay on the Bounty with P.I.X.A.L. to ensure she is not captured by the Sons of Garmadon. Later, Harumi helped Nya build a bike for Zane until she hands Nya the wrong tool, then she goes to make herself useful. Offscreen, she informs Ultra Violet that Zane would be going undercover as Snake Jaguar. Harumi then pushes out the bike for Zane to get on afterwards. Some times later, Mr. E sent Harumi a secret encryted message stating that "the trap has been set". She was standing with the ninja in front of Zane while he was being repaired and later sang a lullaby to baby Wu. Shortly afterwards, she almost kisses Lloyd but he gets nervous and backed away before leaving.

Some time after, she was seen defending the ship from the Quiet One, who corrupted Samurai X who was revealed to be P.I.X.A.L. until she gets captured by the Quiet One. Lloyd tries to save her but both end up falling out of the sky. They both survive the fall and land on the ground safely. Harumi later uses the map to the Mask of Hatred as a sling for Lloyds arm, for he had injured his arm in the fall. After having been separated by the Ninja, both Lloyd and Harumi set out to find the last Oni Mask. In the episode The Quiet One, both were seen running away from a green monster and hide together. They then come out of their hiding spot and Harumi fixes Lloyd's arm sling causing Lloyd to smile and blush before they both head to Strangler's Path. After a while, Harumi chased a Strangle Weed that had pulled Lloyd to a tree and she threw Lloyd's sword at it. She ran towards Lloyd and Lloyd starts questioning how she threw the sword like that. Harumi then gave a kiss on the cheek to Lloyd to make him stop asking questions. Lloyd gives his sword to Harumi while Harumi gives Lloyd the map to the last Oni Mask. Harumi cuts some vines some time later and finds a boat with a Sons of Garmadon insignia on an abandoned boat. They both enter the boat and find another map. Harumi starts the engine and is in charge of steering. After a while, They both start talking about who was the greatest villain was the one that got away before they realize something was in the shallow water. She starts to the engine at full speed and try's to get away from the creature. The creature got away and the boat was pulled by the Black River's current. Harumi tried to steer back but couldn't and both Lloyd and Harumi fell into the water.

Season 9: Hunted[]

In Firstbourne, Harumi and Mr. E travel to the top of Borg Tower to report to Lord Garmadon. Garmadon admits his confusion on how Lloyd is still out there, despite having nothing. He contemplates using the Colossus to force his son out, but Harumi advises against it, telling him it will make the people of Ninjago desperate. She tells him she could use something more surgical and gives Mr. E the mission of finding Lloyd

Iron & Stone, Harumi and the other generals of the Sons of Garmadon are summoned to Emperor Garmadon's throne, due to their failure to capture Lloyd. Harumi is intimidated by Garmadon and watches Mr. E approaches before him. Harumi explains that Mr. E did everything he could, however, they were unaware Lloyd had assistance from the Elemental Masters. Garmadon is outraged by this and uses his Destruction to lift Mr. E and tear him apart from the inside out. Harumi claims that Mr. E is just a machine built to follow orders, but Garmadon ignores this plea and continues to destroy Mr. E. Garmadon then finishes him off by tearing off his limbs, releasing his grip. Garmadon made another demand for his son and threatened to tear Harumi apart if they fail again; she bowed but hid the fact that she was scared by the threat. Despite Mr. E's death, Harumi remains loyal to Garmadon. When he senses Lloyd's presence, she volunteers to handle tower security, informing Killow to keep an eye out. She was later, unknowingly, followed by Mr. Pale as she made her rounds. When Garmadon felt Lloyd's presence and assumed he was on the upper floor, she follows him into the elevator. Later, when Lloyd made his speech, Harumi tried using a recording of his loss against his father to stop him, but he overcomes it and continues speaking. After some time, Killow and she barge in, only to find them gone, but realizing the location of their base after seeing garbage trucks drive away.

In How to Build a Dragon, After learning the Resistance's location, she reports back to Garmadon, along with Killow and Ultra Violet. When she tells Garmadon that he had warned them that Lloyd was close and that she failed to protect him, the Emperor voices his agreement. Ultra Violet then tells Harumi it was her fault Lloyd was able to broadcast the message. Garmadon then asked her if he was not clear of what he would do if her machine failed him, to which Harumi replied she was.

Garmadon then levitates her with his power, to which Harumi pleads with him by bringing up the fact that she was the one who resurrected him, but Garmadon is ready to kill her. However, Garmadon spares her when she tells him that she knows the location of the Resistance's base, and Harumi is then ordered to show him the location of the garbage depot. The Sons of Garmadon then travel there.

In The Gilded Path, The Sons of Garmadon ambush the Resistance, and a battle begins. Harumi arrives wearing the Mask of Hatred, and orders Lloyd to be taken alive. Lloyd and Skylor defeat the oncoming bikers, and Harumi attempts to defeat the Green Ninja herself, only to be held back by Skylor as Lloyd escapes. Skylor then attempts to pull the Mask from Harumi, but Harumi kicks her foe away. After, she turns around and is hit by the armored car that fled with Lloyd. She later stands with Garmadon as he watches them escape the Colossus.

In Two Lies, One Truth After returning to find Garmadon missing, Harumi goes to find him, tracking the dark lord down to The Temple of Resurrection. He tells her that he had the chance to destroy his son, but he hesitated, even though Harumi only resurrected the dark Oni side of him. Harumi tells him that he encompasses all and that he must let go of all he still loves. She tells him to take her as a daughter, so he can kill his son. Garmadon raises his blade as Harumi tells him she is his to command. Garmadon then dubs her his daughter, telling her to see her new father. He then tells her that together, they will kill the Green Ninja.

Later, Harumi, alongside Killow traveled to hunt down Lloyd. They search a community, asking around with force for his location. Lloyd finds out about the hunt and then has Mystake shapeshift to look like him to lead the bikers away. Lloyd's allies take out the bikers one by one until they all corner Harumi. Harumi sees Lloyd without his ninja gi and mocks him, calling him a "beggar in rags," only to be surrounded and captured.

In The Weakest Link, Harumi was tied up at The Resistance base, while Lloyd and the others debated what to do with her, debating whether trading her for the members locked in prison. Harumi mocks Lloyd, asking how he feels knowing that his father cares more for her than for him. Lloyd then says Garmadon is unlikely to want to trade. They are then called out of the room and Nya stays guarding her while the others discuss. They return and drop the Oni Mask of Hatred at her feet. Harumi asks if they are going to use it, but Lloyd says he is not. Nya then puts a gag on her mouth to stop her from talking.

After Dareth took watch she managed to remove the gag, break free, and tie him up. She went back to Garmadon to stop Mystake and Skylor from getting his power of Destruction.

In Saving Faith, Harumi exposed Mystake, revealing her true identity to Garmadon. She warns her master, as Mystake transforms into her true Oni form and fought the Emperor. She attacked the Oni, knocking her to the ground before being thrown aside. As Mistake created a dark vortex, Harumi gave another warning to Garmadon, as "Skylor" tried to touch him. He knocked her back, only to find it was Mystake. Skylor then touched him and escaped, while Garmadon fought the old lady.

Later on, she warned Garmadon to leave, but he refused. Fearing that he would fail and they would die, she runs away, abandoning him and ran down the steps from Borg Tower, using a zip line to another building. She ran inside as the Colossus hit the building and moved, causing the whole block to shake. She ran to find an exit, being about to leave, when she heard a young boy crying. She ran to where she heard it and she saw a family being separated by a lift, similar to what had happened to herself, during the attack of the Great Devourer. She remembered that day and decided to rescue the family, not wanting the child's parents to die, or the child ending up like her. She quickly guided them out but is trapped in the building herself. She tells the family to go and that she will find another way out.

She heads to the top of the building, just as the power struggle between Garmadon and Skylor causes the Colossus to hit the building again. The building then collapses, with Harumi still on the roof, as Lloyd and Garmadon watch. Garmadon cries out in fury and sorrow, turning his rage on Lloyd because of Harumi's death.

A Sinister Shadow (Flashback)[]

While in the Departed Realm, Harumi however, was intercepted by an individual calling himself the Crystal King, and offered to revive her if she became his humble servant. She accepts and is resurrected before discovering a pink crystal in her hand, telling her to head back to the Oni temple, and she complies. Returning to the Oni temple, Harumi inserted the crystal into the pedestal, creating crystals all around the place before learning the Crystal King was the Overlord, who promises her peace in the balance and has her create an army of Vengestone warriors. Harumi spent the next few months trying to find Vengestone before learning of Shintaro Mountain and spoke with Vangelis to have the Munce and Geckles mine it for her. Unfortunately, the mining operation was then dismantled and Vangelis was dethroned by the Ninja, resulting in her looking through other methods, such as buying it off smugglers, like Miss Demeanor, until she managed to get enough to create the Vengestone army before making plans to recruit the Ninja's old enemies and form a council, first bringing in a Nindroid called Mister F.

Season 15: Crystalized[]

In A Painful Promise, After Aspheera returns to her lair, she's met with a Crystal Spider, through which a hologram of a disguised Harumi appears. She invites Aspheera to join the Council of the Crystal King in a bid to have her revenge. Enthralled with this prospect, Aspheera sinisterly accepts.

In Ninjago City vs. Ninja, Wearing a cloak, a tattered cape and white kabuki mask with blue marks which changes her voice to sound like a male, Harumi visits Lloyd in Kryptarium, where the Ninja are locked up after freeing Aspheera. Lloyd mistakenly believes it's Wu, but the concealed figure instead taunts and warns him about the rise of the Crystal King's council, taunting him that the only reason she was telling him this was something similar to what she said at the Oni Temple: That she wanted to see the look of despair and helpless on his face as watches everything he loves be destroyed before his very eyes. As she departs, Lloyd frantically tries pursuing the unknown figure, but he's overtaken by the prison guards.

That night, a crystal spider visits the imprisoned Vangelis and projects a hologram of Harumi, still disguised. She invites him to join the council, and Vangelis accepts.

In Kryptarium Prison Blues, A swarm of crystal spiders infiltrate Krpytarium Prison and enter Pythor's cell. Once more via hologram, a disguised Harumi invites him to join the council. Pythor eagerly accepts the invitation and escapes with the spiders.

In The Fifth Villain, Assuming The Mechanic is the next target to join the council, the ninja capture him and Lloyd disguises himself as the villain. A crystal spider projects Harumi's hologram before Lloyd, inviting "The Mechanic" to join the council. Lloyd ventures underground with the spiders.

The Council of the Crystal King, Still disguised as The Mechanic, Lloyd arrives at the council's lair and finds Pythor, Vangelis, Aspheera and Mister F, concealed Harumi, still wearing the kabuki mask, enters the chamber of villains and quickly exposes Lloyd's identity. He tries to fight and escape, but is incapacitated by Mister F. Harumi then approached Lloyd, asking if he knows who she is before giving him a hint: Singing an all-too-familiar song and removes the kabuki mask, revealing herself just as Lloyd who is horrified as he blacks out.

In A Sinister Shadow, Harumi reveals to Lloyd that she was the mysterious Vengestone merchant that was buying the large quantity of Vengestone to create the Crystal King's army and gathered a number of the ninja's foes. Lloyd expressed to Harumi his feelings for her despite her not returning them. Feeling shocked, Harumi confronted him about why he didn't go to look for her. Lloyd expressed that he did search for her through the rubble with his bare hands, but to no avail. Harumi soon announces her plans to Lloyd in regard to the monastery and the Golden Weapons.

In The Spider's Design, Harumi has Lloyd placed into a Vengestone crafted cage above a pool of lava, to have him witness the progress of her plans. Lloyd tried to convince Harumi that she doesn't want to get innocent people hurt. Harumi thought about it sadly, but a sudden purple glow in her eyes said otherwise. Harumi claimed that she knew of Lloyd's "strong" part that he has been repressing for a long time.

However, in "Dragon Form" when the Overlord reveals to Garmadon how he created the Great Devourer, Harumi heard this revelation as well but not only discovered the truth but also discovered that the ninja were never the ones to blame. Since the Great Devourer killed her parents when it attacked Ninjago City, this made Harumi realize that it was the Overlord who caused everything in Harumi's life to fall apart. Harumi officially turned on the Overlord and called him out for what he had done to her.

In "Roots" Harumi continued to help in the fight against the Crystal King. Upon seeing Lloyd in his Oni form, Harumi was shocked despite her trying to coax the Oni side out of Lloyd for most of the season. After Lloyd returns to normal and the golden Ultra Dragon joins the fight, Harumi obeys Lloyd's wishes to take cover. Once The Overlord is destroyed, Harumi reunites with Lloyd and, to prevent history from repeating itself in "Saving Faith", Lloyd saves Harumi from the collapsing temple and joins the Ninja in celebration upon Lloyd and Garmadon explaining everything. She is last seen helping the Ninja rebuild the Monastery, knowing that she started to have a good relationship with the Ninja.

Powers and Abilites[]

Being a princess for years, Harumi wasn't trained to be a skilled fighter. However, she likely had some acrobatic skills, as she was able to escape through the Royal Palace's rooftops with ease and even made a flip to jump from a roof and run from Lloyd for a short time.

When attacking Lloyd inside the Oni Temple, she is shown to have some skills with a knife (possibly taught by her comrades in the SOG). However, in most of her fights, Harumi would often use the Oni Mask of Hatred's powers in her favor (while also using extra weapons such as another knife in "Big Trouble, Little Ninjago" and dual-wielding katanas in "The Gilded Path"). She was likely also adept to fight with a single katana, as she possessed one when looking for Garmadon in "The Weakest Link." With that, she could be considered a remarkable fighter as she was able to defeat Lloyd, the Green Ninja, twice.

Upon being resurrected by the Overlord, Harumi was briefly bestowed super human strength by a pink crystal.

  • Oni Mask of Hatred: uses the oni mask powers in her favor (while also using extra weapons such as another knife in "Big Trouble, Little Ninjago" and dual-wielding katanas in "The Gilded Path").
  • Crystal Spiders: uses the Crystal Spiders to spy any people, joining the villains the Council of the Crystal King and explode.

Trivia[]

  • Harumi and Morro both had tragic backstories and were out for revenge. They also both redeemed themselves in their last moments of life.
    • Morro and Harumi's voice actors Britt McKillip and Andrew Francis also voice Princess Cadence and Shining Armor in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
      • Tommy Andreasen likes the idea of them being together in the Departed Realm as a couple, a possible reference to Shining and Cadence's romance and marriage.
  • Being an antagonist in the equivilent of thirty total 22 minutre episodes, Harumi is the most frequently appearing character in a villainous role.
    • While Garmadon appears in 65 22 minute episodes across the whole show, he is only an antagonist in 27 episodes.
  • Although the second most prominent appearance she uses in the series is her civilian outfit, it never appears in the sets.
  • Harumi is the second supporting character in Ninjago to have been introduced as a heroic character before their deception is revealed, the first being Krux. However, Harumi is far more important in the season she appears in than Dr. Saunders was and is the only villain to actually be treated as a major ally to the ninja before her betrayal is unmasked (Dr. Saunders was only a minor character in Day of the Departed).
  • She was the third major villain to have a hidden identity. The first two were Pythor, who was revealed to be the cloaked stranger in Rebooted, and Krux, who was revealed to be the true identity of Dr. Saunders.
  • Harumi is Britt McKillip's first purely villainous role (although she had played Queen Chrysalis in her Princess Cadence guise before, that Cadence turned out to be an imposter).
  • Harumi idolized Garmadon ever since he destroyed the Devourer, but specifically only Lord Garmadon. As seen in Garmadon Rulez!, she considered Sensei Garmadon a shadow of his former self and was disappointed by him "giving up on his dreams."
  • According to Garmadon Rulez!, Harumi loves Ice cream, Cats, and Noodles with a lot of garlic, although she was hardly allowed to eat garlic since "princesses weren't allowed to have bad breath."
  • Harumi was originally going to return as a spider-themed cyborg for Crystalized. However, this was changed because of Monkie Kid already having a Spider Queen character.
  • According to Tommy Andreasen, she isn't aware that Pythor was the one who released the Great Devourer, which could explain why she wasn't against hiring him.
    • It's most likley the Ninja told her this after her redemption.
  • Harumi is the 5th villain in the series to be redeemed, the others being Garmadon, Morro, Sensei Yang, and Unagami.
