Hayato Kobayashi is one of the protagonists in the Universal Century timeline of the Mobile Suit Gundam anime franchise.
He was voiced by Kiyonobu Suzuki.
History[]
Mobile Suit Gundam[]
Hayato was a civilian of Side 7 who was a neighbor of Amuro Ray and mutual friend of Fraw Bow. He was among those who boarded the White Base after his home colony was attacked by Zeon. He was later assigned as a soldier on the ship by Bright Noa.
He later became co-pilot of the RX-75-4 Guntank alongside Ryu Jose, serving as the gunner while Ryu was the pilot. After Ryu's died saving Amuro from Crowley Hamon, the Guntank was modified for use by one pilot and Hayato piloted it on his own.
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam[]
After the One Year War, Hayato became married to Fraw and adopted the three orphans who were aboard White Base, Katz, Letz and Kikka. After the Titans were established by the Earth Federation and began enforcing an oppressive regime in the Earth Sphere, Hayato formed the Karaba to combat the corrupt elite military branch.
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ[]
When Neo Zeon had targeted the city of Dublin with a Colony Drop, Hayato assisted the AEUG in rescuing civilians from the destruction caused by the colony drop, only to be killed by Neo Zeon's ace Rakan Dahkaran.
