Heng is a major character in the 2024 Red Candle Games' Metroidvania video game Nine Sols.
She is Yi's younger sister.
Biography[]
Life[]
Heng and Yi were close, though Yi always looked down on his sister unintentionally, assuming that they wanted the same thing without ever actually considering Heng's opinion on things.
After their parents died, Heng wanted to stay on their homeworld rather than leave with Yi, which he insulted her for. He told her that if she chose to stay, she wouldn't be his sister anymore, resulting in Heng's tears, and he left. Sadly, he and Eigong fought, and Yi fell into a 500 year long coma, before ever getting the chance to go back to Heng.
During those 500 years, Heng passed away.
Legacy[]
In the days before her death, Heng called Yi many times and left messages. Due to the fact that Yi was lightyears away, it took 500 years for them to arrive to him. Throughout the game, Yi will receive these messages from Heng, and reminisce about their past together.
By the final message, Yi accepts the fact that he was always in the wrong, and it inspires him to finally make things right.
