Henry Gondorff is one of two protagonists (along with Johnny Hooker) of George Roy Hill's 1973 caper film The Sting.
He was an ex-con man living in Chicago, hiding from the FBI. In order to defeat the notorious crime boss Doyle Lonnergan, he took it upon himself to train a young and potential Johnny Hooker, to trick Lonnergan and end his crime operations once and for all, as well as to end the corrupted FBI agents.
He was portrayed by the late Paul Newman, who also portrayed Doc Hudson from Cars and Luke from Cool Hand Luke.

Personality[]
Henry is a charming and cunning person, it is the reason why he was really good at tricking others and was successful in his con operations when he was younger. He used this charisma in order to easily trick his enemies and defeat them.
Henry is also a loyal and determined person as he tried his best to train the young yet potential Johnny Hooker in order to both defeat Lonnergan and avenge Hooker's friend's death. He was a pretty good trainer to Hooker and even made him another cunning con man.
Abilities[]
Henry was really good at playing poker, regardless honestly or cheating. His proficiency was the reason why he outsmarted his enemies in the first place. He also passed his abilities on to Hooker, together they combined to make a strong force against FBI and the crime boss.
