Hercubunny, later renamed Hercules, is the posthumous overarching protagonist of the Monica's Gang comic book series. He is a magical plush toy that can be brought to life by a mystical powder, the "Magical Solution os the Cosmic Carrot", and was the main hero of the war that happened in the Carrot Galaxy against the evil mage, Lepus, and later would become the reason of Monica's incredible strength.
Biography[]
Hercubunny's origins are unknown, but we know that somehow, a rabbit lady named Monicoel obtained the plush toy that, if exposed to an especial cosmic powder, becomes the powerful Hercubunny, a hero that will do anything to bring peace to the Nine Kingdoms in the Carrot Galaxy. When an evil mage, Lepus, started a war between the kingdoms through lies and manipulation, just to take over them all after they were weakened by battling each other, Lady Monicoel used her last resort, and brought Hercubunny to life with the "Magical Solution of the Cosmic Carrot", so he could fight against Lepus and his army of deformed rabbit monster, the Lagomorphs. Leading what was left of the Nine Kingdoms' armies, Hercubunny retrieved the Nine Kingdoms for their respective kings and queens, but not before an epic showdown with Lepus at the main castle. They played a video game, but Hercunny won. Lepus, enraged, fired a powerful spell at Hercubunny, powerful enough to transform him in his base form again: a little, yellow and fluffy plush bunny. Happy because of his enemy defeat, Lepus was up to reconquer the Nine Kingdoms, but Lady Monicoel used Hercubunny in his toy form and "rabbit-hitted" Lepus, knocking him down to be arrested, with this event being known as the first "rabbit-hit" of history.
Lady Monicoel then put Hercunny in a tiny ship to be send to a random place in the universe, as the Cosmic Carrot Solution was over, meaning Hercubunny would stay forever in his toy form, and if he stayed in the Carrot Galaxy, greedy people would try to take him away as an trophy, and that'd cause new wars. But she programmed Hercubunny to transfer his strength to the first person to ever give him a "bucktoothed-hug", and then sent him away, giving the responsibility of taking care of him with another person, chosen by the destiny. The ship landed in Planet Earth, in the Milky-Way Galaxy, somewhere during the 70s or the 80s, in Brazil, to be found by a girl named Luisa, who took him home, with Hercubunny being renamed to Hercules, due to her mother thinking Hercubunny was overly complicated.
When Luisa grew up and married with Mr. Sousa, she gave her first toy to her daughter, Monica, who had big teeth, and loved the bunny, hugging him as soon as she sees him. Due to her being bucktoothed, Hercules's strength was given to her, who used it to lift the refrigerator and ask her mother for some food. Luisa was frightened, but a recorded message from Lady Monicoel explaining the bunny's history and legacy came out of Hercules, which made Luisa wants to keep it as a secret. She created the "Monicave", a hideout to hid Hercules and other fantastical things. In the story day at Monica's house, where Denise, Sunny, Jimmy FIve, Smudge, Maggy and Monica herself were supposed to tell stories about adventures they had, Monica asked for them to try to find out how she obtained Hercules (whom none of the visitants knew the existence of), and as they tried and failed, she told them the true history, despite her mother best attempts to try to make it look like a made up story, which worked with everyone, but Jimmy FIve and Smudge, who followed Monica and Luisa to the Monicave, where they got the confirmation that the story was actually true.
Hercules occasionally makes cameos and easter egg appearances in the stories.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Super Strength: Hercules, when he was Hercubunny, had an incredible strength that allowed him to take down great enemies, like the Lagomorphs.
- Fighting Abilities: While not clearly demonstrated, Hercules taking down many enemies, as well being literally a warrior by proxy, heavily implies Hercules is a great combatant.
- Weapon Mastery: Hercules is proficiently skilled at the usage of the carrot-laser swords, signature weapons of the Carrot Galaxy.
- Video Game Skills: He won a videogame match against Lepus, and was struggling, which means Lepus was a great player, but Hercules was better.
- Power Transferring: After being permanently turned in a toy, Hercules would pass his strength to the first person who gave him a "bucktoothed-hug".
Weaknesses[]
- Involuntary Transforming: Hercules true form is the one of a yellow, tiny plush bunny, and he can only transform back into his warrior form with a finite magical powder. It is unknown when he transforms back to his toy form, but, apparently, if he takes a too seriously blow, he is imstantly pushed back in his toy form, and will stay that way forever if the magical solution is over.
Trivia[]
- The first bunny Monica ever held, in her first appearance, in 1968, was yellow, despite being presumably Sanson, and he was the inspiration to Hercules creation. Mauricio eventually changed Sanson's color to blue because he felt that it would be more sympathetic.
