Hermit Mio is a protagonist character in Edens Zero. She is one of the Four Shining Stars and is known to be the Mind of Edens. She formerly worked in a place with sadistic scientist, in which they betrayed her and tortured her for two years, causing her to hate humans. After talking to Shiki and his friends and overcoming her past trauma, she helps the crew defeat Spider from hacking the ship and rejoins the Edens Zero.
She is voiced by Kanon Takao in the Japanese version, and by Xanthe Huynh in the English version.
Appearance[]
Hermit is a small, female android with blue eyes, long light-blue hair that fades into cyan halfway down tied in pigtails, she also has two red stripes on both of her checks.
When Shiki and his friends found her on Iron Hill, she wore a white bodysuit with dark-blue armor pads, she had violet sleeves and legs with a medical headband. In Digtails, she was wearing a sleeveless black dress shirt with a fur collar and a ribbon, a pair of light colored sleeves with a white skirt, and some dressing shoes.
Personality[]
Hermit was always seen smiling when Ziggy was around, according to Witch, she has a beautiful smile. She loved humans and dreamed of helping them someday and even become friends with them. Her cheerful and caring personality made her naive that she didn't even notice that Müller and the rest of the laboratory were taking advantage of her and after the robots got destroyed on the planet Hook, he would torture her and use her as his lab experiment for two years.
After getting betrayed and tortured for two years by Müller, her smile has disappeared and began to show signs of depression such as schluding herself on Iron Hill and logged onto Digtails where she also schluded herself. And because of this, Hermit started to hate humans and believing that they didn't have a heart. Despite this, she was willing on helping out Shiki and his friends beat Spider when they faced him in Digtails, but as soon as they got back to the Edens Zero, she locked herself in the Dress Factory where she refused to help Shiki and his friends from being hacked by Spider, since she didn't trust humans. After Shiki and his friends talked to her by saying that humans aren't as bad, Hermit managed to defeat Spider and return to her cheerful personality with her time with Ziggy and her smile has returned as well. The only difference in her personality from before was her naiive and ignorance nature. Hermit is shows that she really cares about the friends see makes and is willing to keep that bond. Hermit is also really into fashion. According to E.M. Pino Analysis, her likes clothes and video games (which she is shown play a video game in the first episode of the second season).
As the mind of the Four Shining Stars, Hemrit is shown to be an intelligent hacker that she is even able to defeat Spider, one of the best hackers in the world in Digtails, hacking into Weisz's account. She is also able to perform complex mathematical formulas
She also has a mischievous side as well, she told Spider he was in range of the Edens Zero's gun which made Spider scared that he even wet his pants, only for the trigger to be for the fireworks on the Eden's Zero.
History[]
She is an android created by the former Demon King Ziggy, they were on the Planet Granbell to serve as member of the Demon King's Four Shining Stars. Hermit has always wanted to help humans and be friends with them, such as wanting to help the Demon King raise Shiki after his retirement. But she left to the Planet Newton to help scientist create an ether-powered weapon. The scientist treated her like a friend, but it all changes when they actually complete the ether-powered weapon. They tricked her the whole time and used her to destroy the Planet Hook where an android was it.
Shortly after, she was taken captive by Müller who tortured and experimented her in his own sadistic ways until she was saved by Interstellar Union Army who raided the Müller Royal Laboratories to arrest these sadistic scientist due to their planetary genocide and several illegal activities they've committed. Ever since then, she viewed humanity negatively and lost faith in Ziggy's ideals.
Sometime after this tragic event, she secluded herself from the rest of the cosmos by leaving her body at Iron Hill and logging onto Digtails, secluding herself from players and NPC's which is most likely leading her into depression.

- Hermit is shown to really love fashion, as Sister Ivry states that Hermit would always be in the Eden's Zero Dress Factory.
- She was also shown to be smiling when Kleene Rutherford was trying on clothes in the Eden's Zero Dress Factory when she and Kris Rutherford went on the ship for the first time.
- Hermit was originally named as "Hermit Miolin". The reason it changed to "Hermit Mio" was because Hiro Mashima already used the name "Miolin" as one of the B-Cubers.
