The Hero of Tython (also known as the Hero of Coruscant) was a Jedi Knight who rose up to challenge and ultimately defeat the Sith Emperor Vitiate during the Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire. One of the four members of Coruscant Aegis.
However, the Hero of Tython disappeared around the time of the Eternal Empire's emergence in 3637 BBY, and the Battlemaster returned five years later as the Outlander when the Alliance formed against the Eternal Empire.
The Hero of Tython was mentored by Jedi Master Orgus Din and later came to take on an apprentice of his own in the former Sith acolyte Kira Carsen, who may have also pursued a romantic relationship with the Hero depending on their gender. The Hero of Tython saved Coruscant from Sith forces and also repelled Darth Angral, who attempted to make use of a superweapon called The Desolator.
Eventually, the Hero of Tython's path took them to the Sith Emperor himself, but alas the Emperor was too powerful and the Hero of Tython was overpowered and briefly turned into a subservient minion before eventually being freed from his control by the Force Ghost of Orgus Din.
During the escape from the Emperor, the Hero of Tython recruited an unlikely ally in Lord Scourge, a longtime servant of the Emperor who had in fact been planning on killing him for some time due to recognizing his insanity and his being as much a threat to the Sith as he was to the Republic and the Jedi. Eventually, the Hero of Tython engaged the Sith Emperor in a rematch and after an intense battle was able to defeat him.
Later in the war, the Hero's group found themselves on the planet Rishi, a pirate haven on the edge of the galaxy. While in the city of Raider's Cove, the Jedi Master was called through the Force to an old house on the western edge of town. There, the Hero found the Force ghost of Orgus Din, who revealed that the house was where he had been born and raised before he was brought into the Order. Counseling his former student, Din asked the Hero to perform some tasks for him in order to bring the Jedi Master into touch with peace again. At Din's instruction, the Hero delivered cures to a number of villagers who had been infected with Corellian Tanamen Fever, and repaired the town's damaged monsoon baffles in advance of the coming storm season. After clearing large amounts of rubble from damaged buildings, the Hero returned to Din's house, where the Jedi's spirit revealed that his presence had another purpose. The Hero's efforts had brought the Jedi back into touch with the core of the light side, and thus Din could help his student heal an old scar—the suppressed memories of the Emperor's training and influence over the Hero. With Din's aid, the Hero accepted what had happened, and was purified of the Sith's remaining influence.
