Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be at the very least 350 words long.
  • An article is featured every month, or at the admins' discretion.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • All nominations and votes must be signed with four tildes (~~~~). Unsigned nominations and votes will be nullified.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • Users cannot nominate articles two months in a row.
  • Only six nominations max for every monthly voting are allowed. Any nomination surpassing this limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • CHEATING WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED. Any user who starts downvoting candidates just to rig the results or go asking other users to vote on his candidate will receive a warning and, in case of reincidence, a one month ban. No exceptions.
  • The use of sockpuppets in HFH is extremely forbidden, resulting in the permanent ban of the sockpuppet's account(s) and in the deletion of your nominated hero.
  • Once the vote was posted, there is no turning back to edit the description of your vote. If you voted against a candidate for a trivial reason and had your vote discarded by an admin, it will be forbidden to go back and edit the reason of your vote to make your denied vote valid again. Doing so will result in a week ban, NO exceptions.
  • There is a limit for how many times a hero can be nominated in a period of time. If a candidate is downvoted but still being brought to HFH more than once in the following months, the limit is 3 attempts. If a hero is downvoted 3 times, the hero can not be proposed again until 12 months has passed after the last proposal. Bringing the hero back before then is a violation of this rule and the candidate will be erased from the nominations. For this limit to reset, the hero must not be proposed for 12 months after the last proposal.

Suggestions

  • Be original and creative with the nominations.
  • Don't vote against a hero if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a hero just because you know nothing about him/her/it.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "He's/She’s boring", He’s/She’s Overrated" or "I don't like him/her" aren't arguments.

The correct nomination format is as follows:

  • Rick May, the voice actor for the Soldier from Team Fortress 2, died on April 8, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.  To pay tribute to the fallen voice actor, as well as the fact that Independence Day is next month, I'm nominating this patriotic anti-hero.

  • Sans here, let’s just say, is a legendary character to say the least. He is the source of many internet memes, and everybody loves the guy. We had Frisk headlined in February of 2019 and it seems good enough for a character this iconic gets headlined for July of 2021
  • Well sure, we never had a hero antagonist before. But given the comedic nature and background to how powerful, yet awesome, of a character Sans portrayed to be, it's safe to say that it has been awhile since a headlined Indie/Doujin Video Game hero, though couldn't remember right given Frisk. But hey, upon considerations to the skeleton who knows how to bring out any laughs, why not anyway.

  • One of Adol's allies from Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys who aided him several times in the game. Also the game's incarnation of the character.

  • As a result of Kentaro Miura's passing, the manga artist and writer for Berserk, I feel this is a great opportunity to both acknowledge and pay tribute to his work, by showcasing the main protagonist of his most inspirational work, Guts himself.

Michael Jordan (Space Jam)

  • Since Space Jam: A New Legacy, the long-awaited sequel to Space Jam, is coming this July, I think we should pay homage to the original film as well as one of the all-time most famous basketball players by headlining Michael Jordan's fictionalized self from the film.

  • The first "Shrek" film recently celebrate its 20th year of existence (it's also signify the start of the "Shrek" franchise ; and the start of a new upgrade of the animation genre). Plus the film was added to the National Film registry ; which is a privilege for a non-Disney animated film. So I think the ogre of our childhood should be headlined for celebrate these events.
  • A great meme, but still, an interesting character, and while we missed the 20 year anniversary, he can still be headlined to celebrate the fil's National Film registry, the first non-Disney one.
