Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines[]

  • Users need to have at least 100 or more edits in order to participate in HFH.
  • Nominations must be at the very least 350 words long.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • All nominations and votes must be signed with four tildes (~~~~). Unsigned nominations and votes will be nullified.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • Users cannot nominate articles two months in a row.
  • Only six nominations max for every monthly voting are allowed. Any nomination surpassing this limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • No cheating. Any user who downvotes candidates just to rig the results will receive a warning and have its downvote nullified.
  • Sockpuppet votes are automatically disqualified.
  • Once a vote is posted, there is no turning back to edit the description of your vote. If you voted against a candidate for a trivial reason and had your vote discarded by an admin, it will be forbidden to go back and edit the reason of your vote to make your denied vote valid again. Doing so will result in a warning, no exceptions.
  • There is a limit for how many times a hero can be nominated in a period of time. If a candidate is downvoted but still being brought to HFH more than once in the following months, the limit is 3 attempts. If a hero is downvoted 3 times, the hero cannot be proposed again until 12 months have passed after the last proposal. Bringing the hero back before then is a violation of this rule and the candidate will be erased from the nominations. For this limit to reset, the hero must not be proposed for 12 months after the last proposal.
  • In the months of January, April, July and October we run a special "Admin's Choice" HFH, with nominations made by the wiki's admins. All previous rules apply during these months.

Suggestions[]

  • Be original and creative with the nominations.
  • Don't vote against a hero if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a hero just because you know nothing about him/her/it.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "He's boring" or "I don't like him" aren't arguments.

The correct nomination format is as follows:

All Might[]

  • It's been about 10 years since the Manga of My Hero Academia was out, and like Deku... I thought of All Might being a part of the Headline.
  • Honestly feel like you should have waited until after the manga since it's currently in its epilogue.
  • Don't get me wrong, I respect All Might as a character and he's a worthy Superman counterpart for the manga side of things. However, my downvote is mainly for two reasons; the first is that this honestly feels like shilling and wanting to prep up whatever is already the most popular thing in a particular medium, which does rub me the wrong way as it does deny any other work from being recognized solely because of one side's popularity. The other reason is that we've already had four animated characters being headlined in a row (Aang (Avatar), Raphael (TMNT 2003), Charlie Morningstar, and Simba (The Lion King)) and to see a fifth one just feels tiresome, repetitive, and stale. In fact, the only headlined character that wasn't from an animated show medium was Princess Peach and that was all the way back in March. I personally think other mediums (films [whether live-action or animated], video games, television shows [again, whether live-action or animated], literature, etc) deserve recognition as well. My apologies, but All Might is getting a downvote for the reasons I've stated.

Popeye[]

  • Probably one of the oldest heroes, Popeye was the brainchild of the late Elzie Crisler Segar who is best remembered for his superhuman strength that is acquired when he eats a can of spinach. In most of his appearances, he is the one who has to rescue his love interest Olive Oyl from his archenemy Bluto (of course, Popeye's actual mortal nemesis is the Sea Hag, but she does not tend to appear in much Popeye-related media. This man is a total beast who can move the very ground in one instance when Bluto cut down a bridge to keep Popeye from chasing him. He is someone who always looks out for the "weakerist" and does what he thinks is right. Of course, who could forget his theme song confidently declaring he yam what he yam?
