Nominations for articles to be featured on the front page.

Guidelines

  • Nominations must be at the very least 350 words long.
  • An article is featured every month, or at the admins' discretion.
  • Whichever article has the most votes at the end of the month is featured for a month.
    • Each downvote counts as a point down for the nominee.
    • In case of a tie, the one with fewer downvotes wins.
  • Admin votes carry the same weight as regular users' votes.
  • All nominations and votes must be signed with four tildes (~~~~). Unsigned nominations and votes will be nullified.
  • Nominations and votes CANNOT BE CHANGED. Each user can only vote ONCE, for and against.
  • An article cannot be nominated twice in a row (if an article was nominated in the previous voting, it cannot be nominated again in the current one).
  • Users cannot nominate articles two months in a row.
  • Only six nominations max for every monthly voting are allowed. Any nomination surpassing this limit will be automatically disqualified.
  • CHEATING WILL NEVER BE TOLERATED. Any user who starts downvoting candidates just to rig the results or go asking other users to vote on his candidate will receive a warning and, in case of reincidence, a one month ban. No exceptions.
  • The use of sockpuppets in HFH is extremely forbidden, resulting in the permanent ban of the sockpuppet's account(s) and in the deletion of your nominated hero.
  • Once the vote was posted, there is no turning back to edit the description of your vote. If you voted against a candidate for a trivial reason and had your vote discarded by an admin, it will be forbidden to go back and edit the reason of your vote to make your denied vote valid again. Doing so will result in a week ban, NO exceptions.
  • There is a limit for how many times a hero can be nominated in a period of time. If a candidate is downvoted but still being brought to HFH more than once in the following months, the limit is 3 attempts. If a hero is downvoted 3 times, the hero can not be proposed again until 12 months has passed after the last proposal. Bringing the hero back before then is a violation of this rule and the candidate will be erased from the nominations. For this limit to reset, the hero must not be proposed for 12 months after the last proposal.

Suggestions

  • Be original and creative with the nominations.
  • Don't vote against a hero if you haven't read the article about it yet.
  • Don't vote against a hero just because you know nothing about him/her/it.
  • Don't say anything that may be offensive to another.
  • If you're going to vote against, present an actual argument for your reasoning. "He's/She’s boring", He’s/She’s Overrated" or "I don't like him/her" aren't arguments.

The correct nomination format is as follows:

  • Originally, I was going to nominate Charlie Magne for October, but after learning about Ed Asner's death over the last few days, I changed my mind and decided to nominate a hero Asner is well-known for to pay tribute to him: Carl Fredrickson from Disney/Pixar's Up.

Ellen Ripley

  • There's been a notable lack of the "final girl" archetype of horror protagonist represented in the HFH, so why don't we fix this issue with what is most likely the most famous example of one in all of horror cinema. Helps that Aliens is still relevant today, with an upcoming reboot film and a new video game, Aliens: Fireteam Elite, releasing not too long ago.
  • Sigourney Weaver, always
  • Apologies for removing the nomination by mistake, I misinterpreted your against vote on one of last month’s nominations as you nominating an article.
  • Alien is one of the best movies of all time and Ripley is an icon of sci-fi, much deserved of being headlined.

Tanjiro Kamado

  • With the second season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba coming up on September, I thought this would be my second shot at this. Sure even with other anime characters headlined from the last few months, I think this one here at least deserves a spot from one of Shonen Jump's greatest manga series. As you all remember, Tanjiro Kamado has been such an inspiring impact for a character from backstory to development and at the least, deserves some recognition if so to this point. Because to the case and honors of Kyojuro Rengoku since Mugen Train, surely enough this could also regard this as the 1st anniversary of Kimetsu no Yaiba's film to surpass Spirited Away, not that if it was this important, but it was kind of a surprise to everyone now nationally around and across the world.
  • Although I was initially going to make my own nomination, but you know what, I’ll let it wait. Tanjiro definitely gets my vote, and definitely needs recognition.
  • Well, after Tanjiro's failure on being headlined for January, I decided that it is a next shot, its a long time having anime characters is headlined. As for Tanjiro, it found out that 2nd season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is here! It has a strong one that reflects his past stories, especially those who have. In development, He is going to go for this one.

  • I'm was a fan of Eddsworld since 4th grade it has a big fanbase, though he was a villain at times, but I think he can be a good candidate, and mostly to honor his actor's death.

  • I was recently thinking of Twilight being Headlined because October will be the next Anniversary for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic back in October of 2010.

  • With the Persona series' 25th anniversary this September, I think it'd be great for the series' most famous character to be featured. Even if he sometimes wanders on the darker side of the law, Ren has a strong sense of justice and doesn't stand for corruption. He always prevails against the odds, even when the entire world is against him.
