The Heroes Wiki is an off-shot of the "Villains Wiki" and is designed to be a comprehensive database of heroes from all media - ranging from cartoon shows of old to epic dramas, movies and video-games. Heroes are an ancient traditional spanning across almost all cultures and capturing the imaginations of young and old - this wiki seeks to pay homage to those childhood fantasies as well as characters who continue to inspire us well into our adult life. |
 Shantae is a half genie hero and the titular main protagonist of a game series of the same name from WayForward. Shantae received her magic from her mother (who is a genie), and she protects her friends and Scuttle Town from her arch-nemesis, Risky Boots. Shantae's half-genie nature gives her several magic abilities, most notably her Hair Whip, which she can crack like a whip and lash out at attacking adversaries. Despite common belief, this ability was not bestowed upon her by the genies, suggesting that it is self-taught bye her. Shantae's primary job is being the Guardian Genie of a small fishing town known as Scuttle Town, and her life is quite quiet. That is until a group of pirates, led by the sinister Risky Boots, whom attacks Scuttle Town in order to snatch a prototype steam engine in the Mimic's Workshop. Shantae travels across Sequin Land, locating the parts scattered around the island, before confronting Risky Boots again, thwarting her plans to use it for evil. Later on, during a second attack by Risky Boots, she is fired by the mayor for seemingly failing to protect the town and letting Risky get away. She later loses her powers to Risky Boots, but still manages to defeat her with her own magic. She eventually forms a temporary truce with Risky Boots to confront her former master The Pirate Master after witnessing a tinkerbot transforming a mysterious black powder, the two locate and defeat the Pirate Master and Shantae regains her genie powers and frees Scuttle Town from the Ammo Baron's regime. With her powers restored, Shantae goes on to defeat Risky Boots once more by destroying her Tinkerbrain, whilst keeping the Genie Realm intact. Shantae would once again save all her friends after the Seven Sirens kidnap the other half-genies on Paradise Island in order to restore the Empress Siren to her full strength in order to kill all life in order to remain immortal. Shantae swiftly defeats her, saving Risky Boots in the process despite all the trouble she has caused up to that point. Despite all the incredible feats she has accomplished, one mystery still mystifies Shantae to this day: the whereabouts of her mother. She is voiced by Cristina Vee, who also voices her archenemy, Risky Boots.
