Hiccup Horrendous Haddock II is a major posthumous character in the How to Train Your Dragon novel series.
Biography[]
Hiccup was one of the three children of Grimbeard the Ghastly, however he was soon abandoned by his father on the mountains due to his lack of strength and usefulness. Eventually he was found and adopted by a family of Grimler Dragons and raised in their ways.
Eventually he reunited with his father and tried to convince him to change his ways and cease his dragon hunting campaign, however due to the suspicions that Thugheart had planted on Grimbeard's mind, Hiccup was killed by his own father in the throne of the Wilderwest.
He served as one of Hiccup III's biggest inspirations throughout his journey and his books on Dragon Training helped III several times in the story, especially on his bond with Toothless
