Powers and Skills[]
Hildegarde's weapon of choice was a staff, and she can wield light magic or fire magic depending on her variant. She is also capable of healing wounds.
Biography[]
In her younger days, Hildegarde saw prayer as all she had until her parents gave her to the orphanage. Despite this, she hoped they would come back to her. However, she started to see fun in an evil light, and she thought that Valentine's Day was impure. Eventually, her views began to change when her friends had her don a dress they helped her choose and she began to enjoy it. Euden came to check on her to see if something happened and she denied it and was thinking of her days at the orphanage as she prayed for the return of her parents.
She however had no doubt over her practice as it's for the salvation of all hearts in varying sizes and all else must be of free will to accomplish anything like this and is grateful to the Halidom populace teaching her a vital lesson through the continued actions they have done. Euden asks her if she had something to get out of the Valentine's Day event as he and company might be able to get everything she wanted if she worked with them as he does not believe prayer can get it done.
Hildegarde realizes she needs to think about it before answering with Euden suggesting it to be something she desired in childhood but could not get it. Notte tries to ask Hildegarde, but the woman claims it was nothing.
Euden then asks Hildegarde to do something that shows how much he and his friends appreciate her presence at the party, likening it to a Valentine's present. Hildegarde thanks him and brings up one of her old memories from her years in the orphanage, but had no clue on what was in the future.
Later on, Ranzal play the role of a witch trying to prevent the princess (played by Hildegarde) from marrying a prince, claiming that she (Ranzal's witch character), will be his wife and orders her to be seized. Hildegarde breaks out of her princess character and asks what this was.
Notte explains that she wanted to be in the princess role in a play in her childhood and they were trying to help her with that. Hildegarde's reasoning was that lies were one of the world's most horrible things. She calms down as she explains she did not intend for them to try it in the present day.
Ranzal explained to her that her dress resembles a princess and he spent one sixth an hour trying to memorize the lines and that they might as well do it. Euden did never really think of Hildegarde as princess material which Hildegarde does find herself unfit for, though Euden did find it cute.
Hildegarde tells them she does not like being teased about it and the reason for her wanting a part was serious as someone will save the princess and had been jealous of this part. Notte realizes that she wanted it as she believed it would have brought her parents back to her.
Notte suggests they skip to the scene where the prince saves her in the role. Notte suggests Euden to play this part. Hildegarde is quick to point that she does not recall the prince and princess kissing. Notte explains she found it more exciting, but Euden points out that she should have run that through everyone participating first.
Notte has everyone initiate their positions as they prepare for the play for the scene. But Hildegarde breaks character instead as what they did would have been seen as lewd to the goddess she worshipped. However, Hildegarde did consider it foolish to cling to the search for her parents. She wanted her parents to see her perform ans she wanted to see them in the audience.
Euden then offers to help her find them as prayers alone cannot grant her wish. Hildegarde accepts this offer and travels with him to her old orphanage where she meets with her old friend Saul who has taken charge of the orphanage.
Saul explains that Hildegarde locked herself away and hoped her parents came back. Saul then asked her and Elisanne to play with the current generation of children in the meantime.
This makes Hildegarde consider using her time and energy differently. Just then, Saul roughly explains that the information is very messy and asks her to help out if she wants it. In day past the next several days, Euden travels with Hildegarde to another village based on the information he has attained as her parents might be there.
Hildegarde hesitates out of fear they might reject her, and fears seeing them and wanted them to return for her and that dream would be impossible if she finds them herself and not the other way around. Euden apologizes for not doing much more for her.
She managed to look past her loneliness to face how she felt and find the true wish she had. She then asked one more request. During a rehearsal, Ranzal was told by Hildegard to sound more like a menace so people can understand the theme of evil's punishment she also told the other actors to put more effort into their acting.
Notte asks her to slow down and not weird out the audience. Hildegarde and acknowledges this, but is still determined to make every child happy. At the orphanage, Hildegarde notices Eve; a girl dressed in dark rags; and realizes how similar how she is like her. She also considers that the girl may not enjoy being alone.
Euden also realizes this play should make everyone including Eve happy. Hildegarde then tries to get closer to the child even though she would not approach Hildegarde. Hildegarde soon learns Eve would like to be a princess in the play, but could not get into the play.
Hildegarde tells Eve not to be disparaged and improve herself if she lacks confidence. During the play, Hildegarde decides to use her experience help people. But when an old tiara prop breaks on accident thanks to how much it degraded in storage, Hildegarde gets her a new tiara so the play can go on.
After the play, Hildegarde came to the realization that all her prayers lead up to meeting the main cast and saving other people, which enables her to grow. She specifies that she is doing the saving now. She also explains that her real role she had as a child was a saint conferring the words of the goddess and was right in her prayers bringing salvation to the people.
