Hirokazu Arai is a supporting character of the 2018 dark fantasy manga series Chainsaw Man and its 2022 anime television series adaptation of the same name. He was a public safety devil hunter part of Tokyo Special Division 4. He was paired with Kobeni as a new recruit of Makima.

He was voiced by Taku Yashiro in Japanese and Jarrod Greene in English.

Appearance[]

Arai is a tall man short spiky black hair, black pupils and a scar on the bottom left of his face. As a devil hunter he is usually seen wearing a black suit, however he is seen wearing a shirt at the newbie welcome party.

Personality[]

He is a caring and virtuous man who become unversed when Himeno announce to the Division 4 group that she will give a tongue kiss to anyone who defeats the Eternity Devil inside hotel and he suggest that woman at a young ages shouldn't be giving herself to other's before marrying.

He views himself as a good and kind individual that helps those who are sick, like he did with helping Denji in the bathroom with his barf kiss with Himeno or looking after his mother every night she comes home after working. Despite caring a lot about his teammates he is still willing to sacrifice others like he and Kobeni tried to kill Denji to give him to the Eternity Devil. He also shows some jealous to Denji for his skills and abilities as a hybrid and Devil Hunter as this is his weakness. And during his free time he likes reading haiku.

Abilities[]

It's stated that he was trained Himeno for half year although nothing much is known about his combat abilities.

Fox Devil Contract: Like most devil hunters in the organization Arai has a contract with the Fox Devil for an unknown price that allows him to summon a part of his body, possibly his paws.
