Howard the Duck is a supporting character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing as a minor character in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, and a supporting character in Avengers: Endgame. Versions of him also appear in What If...?, serving as a minor character of "What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?" and "What If... Thor Were an Only Child?".
He is an extraterrestrial anthropomorphic duck and a former resident specimen in Taneleer Tivan's museum. When Carina destroyed the museum, Howard had a drink with the Collector before leaving to Contraxia to party and drink. Following the Blip, Howard was transported to Earth to fight in the battle against Thanos' army, and witnessed the mad titan's defeat.
He was voiced by Seth Green, who voices Chris Griffin in Family Guy, and also voiced Jeff "Joker" Moreau in the Mass Effect series, Milo in Mars Needs Moms, Leonardo in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series, and also played young Richie Tozier in the It miniseries, and Patrick Wisely in Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

Not much is known about Howard's past, but he is a extraterrestrial anthropomorphic duck that enjoyed drinking, partying, and telling jokes to woman. Before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy, he was captured by the collector Taneleer Tivan, and was kept in his museum on Knowhere.
Guardians of the Galaxy[]
In 2014, Howard was still held captive in the museum until his slave Carina unleashed the power of the Orb in an attempt to kill Tivan, but only managed to destroy the museum. After the incident, Howard and the Collector are seen drinking, and the former wad disgusted that Tivan allowed Cosmo to lick his face. It's revealed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 that Howard left Knowhere and moved to Contraxia, where he was seen on a date with a woman at the Iron Lotus.
Battle of Earth[]
In 2018, Howard survived the Snap, where the Mad Titan Thanos succeeded in wiping out half of the universe with the Infinity Stones. It's assumed that Howard stayed on the planet Contraxia, but in 2023, he was teleported to Earth alongside the Ravagers to help the heroes fight Thanos and his army. Howard and his allies witnessed the defeat of the Mad Titan, but at the cost of Iron Man's life by using the Infinity Stones.

- Howard was supposed to appear in Avengers: Infinity War and to be voiced by Ken Jeong, but was added in Avengers: Endgame by the Russo brothers since they wanted to add a cameo in the Battle of Earth sequence.
