In Monster Hunter, the main governing body is the Hunter's Guild (ハンターズギルド, Hantāzu Girudo).
Goals and Policies[]
In Monster Hunter, the Hunter's Guild serves as the main governing body, working for a shared objective. Its primary goal is to stop additional harm to the ecosystem in an effort to keep living species from going extinct. Even if nature and humanity have drifted apart throughout the ages, it aims to bring them back into harmony. The Guild employs skilled professionals known as hunters to carry out this policy. Hunters are prohibited from hunting the same species more than once unless specified, and the numbers of monsters in each area are noted. Although there are many penalties for poaching, a Guild Knight's death is the most frequent.
The Four Swords of the Guild[]
The four emblems on the Hunter's Guild's crest stand for the four ideals the organization seeks to promote. "Respect for nature" is symbolized by the highest symbol, "life as a community" by the left, "prosperity from nature" by the right, and "crafting from nature" by the lowest.
Services and Responsibilities[]
All hunting activities are unified and governed by the Hunter's Guild. It gathers requests for hunting and collecting from all across the world and posts them for hunters to complete in their outposts and gathering halls. Such missions serve a variety of goals, such as protecting towns and people or studying the biology and anatomy of monsters. Sometimes, as when an Elder Dragon attacks or a new species is discovered, the Guild will send out a hunting request to a particular group of hunters. It will give hunters access to a detailed catalog of all known monster species and variations, broken down by location.
In addition, the Hunter's Guild is in charge of deciding which locations are open for hunting. Occasionally, it will limit which hunters are allowed to enter particular locations. Lastly, the Hunter's Guild will construct arenas and colosseums so that controlled encounters between hunters and monsters can take place. In addition to being used for public amusement, they are usually employed for training.
Locations[]
The main districts of the Hunter's Guild are Minegarde, Dundorma, Loc Lac, Tanzia, and Val Habar. The Hunter's Guild has its headquarters in the city of Dundorma, from which all significant announcements and actions are made. The Guild has a vast territory, with many districts, each overseen by a Guild Master, spread across several regions. One or more Hunter's Guild-employed representatives are in charge of smaller outposts, which are established in isolated towns and villages with smaller inhabitants, like Kokoto Village, Pokke Village, Moga Village, and Yukumo Village. These are seen as belonging to the bigger districts. For instance, Yukumo Village is in the Loc Lac District, while Pokke Village is in the Dundorma District. While some districts share hunting areas, each district oversees its own.
Registration[]
One needs to register as a Monster Hunter in order to take up Hunting Guild tasks. The Guild then uses each hunter's "Hunter Rank," which is a precise indicator of their level of personal competence, to assess their capacity to fulfill various demands. Additionally, the Guild will prioritize quests such that only those who have the necessary experience will complete them.
Additionally, each hunter receives a Guild Card, which design they are able to alter. Hunters use this to identify themselves because it includes their name, custom title, tasks accomplished, rewards earned, and species hunted. Usually, wood, minerals, or monster body parts are used to make the cards.
Captured Monsters[]
The institution requesting the catch usually kills the captive monster while it is asleep. This is so they may see its organs and other body parts and gain a better grasp of a species. The Wycademy, the Royal Paleontology Scriveners, and the Elder Dragon Observation Team are examples of such organizations. Astera usually studies and releases caught monsters, though some may have pieces of their bodies removed if needed. The Forbidden Lands monsters that are captured are usually left unconscious, only to wake up and walk off later.
