| ~ Chigiri to Isagi and Kunigami |
Hyoma Chigiri is a major supporting character in the sport anime and manga series Blue Lock. He is a participant for the Blue Lock project and joins Team Z. Upon first arriving at the Blue Lock facility he had this fear of breaking his leg again that received in middle school that preventing him from playing soccer. During the Neo Egoist League he would later on play for the Manshine City in England.
He is voiced by Soma Saito in Japanese and by Aaron Dismuke in English
Appearance[]
Chigiri is a tall man with long crismon red hair with his left side tied in a braid and the right of his hair arriving at his torso. Because his many female-like features on his face, he is often mistake as a girl and is nicknamed as "Princess" or "Kunoichi". He looks very similar to her mother and sister. He has also has received many compliments from other players at Blue Lock on his attractiveness about his female appearance. During games, the left side of his hair would be tied in a braid so that hair won’t blind him.
As a participant at Blue Lock, he wears the standard dark body suit with blue lines all over the uniform. In the First Selection upon becoming a member of Team Z, he wears the team’s #4 blue jersey over the suit. In the Second Selection, he wears the #44 red jersey of Team Red then switched to a white jersey after joining Isagi’s team. And in the Third Selection, he wore the 44# white jersey of Team B. He then finally wears the #4 dark and blue uniform in the official Japan U-20.
Personality[]
At a young age, Chigiri was always very confident about his speed and even naming himself as the “chosen one”. Because of his legs muscle and outstanding talents in soccer he viewed others of his age as inferior to him especially those who annoyed him. He was described by others as a “super-egoist” and the most agressive player on the field. He loses his faith for his superiority on other players, with being harassed by Wanima Brothers, giving him a fear of losing “who he is ” a fear so big that prevented him from playing the sport. Chigir does admits when he outruns other players on the field, he felt great joy because he can finally let go of his fear that he developped from the Wanima Brothers.
Since Isagi who motivated him to continue on his passion on the sport. He would usually focus on the players who have the top speed on the field and would often try to outrun them. After having his egoist side back he has been shown to be a leave quite an attention on the field due to his forces on his speed as it makes other players to notice him and acknowledge for his incredible speed. He shows deep care about his appearaces, especially when it comes to his hair as well as his knee that he injured in the past giving a fear to run at his fullest because of the injury that he witnessed in middle school. Similar to Isagi, outside of matchs he is a usually a friendly individual as teammates likes Kunigami have gained faith from him to which they have created many “chemical reactions” during games. In the Second Selection, upon joining Nagi’s team, he gets along very well with him as he they watched video togethers in the rooms as well as giving Nagi various object to test if he could catch them with his foot.
Abilities[]
Immense Speed: Among the highest ranking players in Blue Lock, his speed is shown several times to be his main weapon. During games, he has been shown as the fastest player in majority of the times, caughing players off guard with only other players who are also known for their speed can rival him, like Zantetsu Tsurugi, Ryusei Shido or Eita Otoya. However at full speed, nobody has been seen at a contest aside from Zantetsu in a speed of 10 meters. Furthermore his speed is so great that it helped him to catch up to the 1st defender of the Japan U-20. By using his speed, he is able to catch up a ball that he kicked directly which displays a dribble that can trick the enemy team’s positions.
Techniques[]
- 44 Panther Snipe: A technique that he created by combining from his various other techniques that gained in the past at Blue Lock along while being trained by Chris Prince. The techniques also the combined skills a lot better allowing him to a score goal in a different way that he has done in the past. Chigiri first has to find a perfect location in order to shoot, being on the left at around 44 degrees and 19 meters of distance from the goal. Chigir will then secondly attempt to break the enemy team’s formation with his cut to reach the perfect spot and lastly he will make a quick kick the ball to the goal with technique of centering.
