Good day, Admiral. I'm I-401, the second ship in the special submarine series. Just call me Shioi.

The Sen Toku-class I-401 was once the largest submarine in the world. It was commanded by Lieutenant Commander Nobukiyo Nambu of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. Capable of carrying three two-seat Aichi M6A1 "Seiran" (Mountain Haze) float torpedo bombers, the Sen Tokus were built to launch a surprise air strike against the Panama Canal.


She wears a school swimsuit with a name tag under a white and orange sailor collared shirt. She has medium-short brown hair in a ponytail secured with a peculiar hairclip along with brown eyes and a noticably tanned complexion.


Her nickname is "Shioi" (401 in goroawase).

  • Calling herself Shioi. While the "shi" and "i" in her name stands for 4 and 1 in Japanese respectively, the "o" in her name is just pronounced as the letter instead of an abriviation of the number 0.
  • Her design was shown in the endcard of Arpeggio anime episode 1 that aired 8 October 2013, two months before she was added to the game.
  • Commissioned 8 January 1945.
  • Expended as a target ship, off Pearl Harbor, 31 May 1946. Wreck found in March, 2005.
  • She was used as a target ship by the US Navy was to prevent her from falling into the hands of the Soviet Union before the Cold War.
