~ Ledov greeting Sam when they finally meet. |
Igor Ledov is the deuteragonist of Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem.
Ledov is the leader of a small group of Russian resistance fighters and one of Sam Stone's self-proclaimed "biggest fans". Ledov and his team support Sam in catching up to the traitor Brand during Mental's invasion of Earth.
He is voiced by Gianni Matragrano.
Appearance[]
Ledov is a middle-aged man with a round face, neck-long black hair and a short beard. He wears a green turtleneck sweater, a black leather jacket, fingerless gloves, combat boots and a single kneepad on his right leg. He also has what appears to be a razor blade he wears as a necklace and round, red-tinted sunglasses.
Personality[]
“ | After all this ends, I'm gonna rebuild my studio, and we're gonna write some banger songs about our journey here. | „ |
~ Loading screen quote from Ledov. |
Ledov is a jovial and enthusiastic fighter for the freedom of humanity and close friends with his squadmates. While his outlook on life frequently shifted from communism to nihilism to buddhism and back, he was always a firm anarchist. He rejects authority of any kind and initially believed Mental's invasion would "cleanse this goddamn civilization". He quickly realized that the Horde is no better than any government on Earth however and that this war is purely destructive, joining the fight to save mankind.
Biography[]
Background[]
Born in Tomsk, Russia on the 10th September 2074, Ledov was the frontman for the underground punk-rock band Undertow and a well-known member of the Siberian Anarchist Movement, publishing several controversial albums like "The Morning Lobotomy" and "Chronicle of a Death Foretold". Misanthropic apathy led to him dismissing the disastrous first contact with Mental and didn't care much when the interstellar colonies started being destroyed. This attitude quickly vanished however and when his band's recording studio was destroyed in a bombing, Ledov decided enough was enough and assembled a partisan squad to take the fight to Mental. They were involved in many sabotage missions across Siberia, including the hijacking of several Octanian Harvester Leviathans.
Ledov also wrote an offensive song insulting Mental's mother, which earned him a spot on Lord Achriman's list of "Most Wanted Earth Propagandists". It is notable that this is not only because he insulted Mental's mother, but because he also made the heretical claim that Mental has a mother in the first place.
Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem[]
Sam first made contact with Ledov after finally reaching the communications tower of a large oil refinery in Siberia, trying to find a way to intercept General Brand before he can hand the alien artifact he stole over to Mental. Ledov was already trying to warn the refinery to shoot down a plane with an Alien Artifact Acquisition symbol on it, as General Brand is using one to reach the Horde superportal in Tunguska, but Sam just saw the last living survivor get cut in half. After Sam introduces himself, Ledov excitedly instructed him to head south to a small village called Kalinovka, where he and his squad will be waiting to help Sam get to the Tunguska portal.
Before they could continue however their conversation got interrupted by a parasite-controlled attack helicopter, forcing Sam to jump off the tower and into the waters below. While Sam fought his way through the Siberian countryside, Ledov kept radio contact with him to keep his spirits up and informed of any new developments, even if they are completely trivial like his teammate having eaten all their beans. Eventually Sam finally met up with Ledov's squad in Kalinovka, though not before Ledov stopped Ivan from nearly shooting him out of suspicion.

Sam, Ivan and Ledov relaxing during their train ride to Ustinov.
Together they headed out to secure a nearby train station for transportation to Ustinov, where Sam could get to Tunguska much easier. Their departure was interrupted by the approach of a large force of enemies. Ledov yelled at Sam and the others to board the train so they can get out of there, but Sam decided to stand his ground and wipe them all out, astounding Ledov and his team. On the train Ivan, who was previously unimpressed by Sam's reputation, decided to celebrate by sharing some vodka with Sam while Ledov played his guitar. They also spoke their regards to the recently deceased Father Mikhail, who fell victim to Brand's treachery. Their relaxed and peaceful ride came to a halt at their destination Ustinov, which was currently under siege by a Harvester Leviathan.
As they worked their way towards the local dam, they were approached by a truly massive horde of enemies. After their hard-fought victory, the Harvester Leviathan began to move again and sent out Octanian Raiders to bombard the city, prompting the team to pick up their speed. They found a practically butchered Earth Defense Force team, but Raiders collapsed a nearby building as they approached to help. When the dust settled, Ivan found himself held captive by Brand, who used the bombardment as cover for his ambush. He demanded Sam surrender himself to him or watch as Ivan dies, who screamed at Sam not to listen to him, yelling defiantly that it is better to be dead than surrender to a traitor. Brand obliged and ripped him in half, leaping away into the distance as Ledov screamed and shot at him.

Ledov's last stand against the coming Horde.
The rubble from the building's collapse separated Sam from the others. Sam vowed Brand would pay for what he had done, telling Ledov that he would do the rest of the mission by himself. Ledov insisted despite Sam's protest, with his teammate Natasha stating they are ready for action in Ivan's honor, so they agreed to reunite at the nearby dam. But when Sam arrived, Ledov was already the only squadmember remaining as they were assaulted by enemy forces. Sam rushed to help, but Ledov screamed that he was running into a trap, which Brand immediately sprung. He knocked Sam into the waters below, which distracted Ledov enough for a Khnum to grab him. While he escaped its grasp by shooting into its throat, he injured himself falling onto a car. He looked up to see more enemies approaching him, prompting him to smile, kick over a bag of explosives and hold the trigger into the air. As the Horde arrived and began killing him, Ledov triggered the detonator and took his attackers with him into the afterlife.

Ledov's death, about to blow himself and his assailants sky high.
Sam succeeded in killing Brand and avenging Ledov and his team, but his satisfaction was cut short by a future version of himself stepping out of a time portal and informing him that, while killing Brand may have been cool and all, this timeline of events will not end well. He and his future self then left into the time portal, but Sam briefly returned to make graves for his friends on a hill.
