Impa is the deuteragonist of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon. She serves as Zelda's nursemaid since she was very little and she plays a major role, guiding Zelda, keeping her updated on various events going on in Gamelon, introducing boss enemies she will face, much similar to Gwonam, who helped Link in Link: The Faces of Evil.
History[]
When King Harkinian hears that Duke Onkled is being attacked by Ganon's forces in Gamelon, he intends on going there to help him, though his only daughter Zelda asks what if something bad happened to him. He tells her that he will take the Triforce of Courage to protect him, and if he doesn't come back in about a month, she must send Link. Zelda turns to Impa, and she tells her that the Triforce of Wisdom promises that he will return home. The king's ship will set sail in the morning, and wonders what is for dinner.
Harkinian departs, and when a single month passes, the king does not turn up, with Impa being certain that he's still alive, so Zelda turns to Link and orders him to find her missing father, which Link gleefully looks forward to bombing some Dodongos. Much later, not even Link ever came back, so Zelda decides to embark on a journey to find them and tells Impa that they need to go there, and Impa takes the Triforce of Wisdom with her.
Impa would learn that King Harkinian was imprisoned, and Link was in a terrible fight (although it would be later revealed that he was trapped inside a small mirror), and she would later tell her about the people of Sakado were brought to Tykogi Tower and Lady Alma having been captured by a Wizzrobe. Eventually, Impa advises Zelda that the only way to defeat Ganon is by "falling", though she does not get what it all means. Impa's assistance would pay off as Zelda was able to defeat Ganon, free King Harkinian and Link, and save the land of Gamelon with Duke Onkled having been revealed to be a traitor and is subsequentially punished for his crimes.
