| ~ Jamal finally arrests the Furschteins |
Inspector Jamal is the supporting character of the 1987 animated film The Chipmunk Adventure.
He is voiced by the late Ken Sansom who also voiced Rabbit in Disney's Winnie the Pooh series.
Jamal is immediately assumed to be a villain since the first thing he does is send his two rough-looking henchmen named Cisvan and Cuomo to capture The Chipmunks and The Chipettes. However, he turns out to be on their side as a high-ranking member of the Los Angeles (L.A.) Division of INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) by working to bust an illegal international diamond smuggling ring ran by Klaus and Claudia Furschtein. With the help of an inside man named Mario posing as Claudia's butler, Jamal is feed information about where The Chipmunks and The Chipettes would be delivering the diamonds. Jamal succeeds in taking Klaus and Claudia into custody with the help of The Chipmunks, The Chipettes, Dave, and Miss Miller as, when the Chipmunks and Chipettes return to Los Angeles International Airport, the Furschteins kidnap them. Jamal identifies himself to Dave and gives pursuit in a marked black-and-white police cruiser, but the Furschteins cause an accident to lose Jamal and Dave. However, Miss Miller comes roaring up the highway going the wrong way, leading to the Furschteins crashing their car trying to avoid her and stunning them long enough for Jamal to arrive with backup and finally place them under arrest. Due to Claudia having only moments earlier been celebrating what she thought was her victory, Klaus sarcastically toasts her over her defeat as they are cuffed and Jamal places them in the back of a patrol car to be hauled off to prison.
