Irina Jelavić (イリーナ・イェラビッチ, Irīna Yerabitchi, Serbian: Ирина Јелавић) is a supporting character in Assassination Classroom. She is a professional hitwoman who took up the role as the English teacher of Class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Junior High School to carry out her mission of assassinating Korosensei.
Personality[]
Irina's debut appearance depicted her as a cruel, calculating and arrogant woman who didn't care for the students of Class 3-E at all (which earned her the nickname "Bitch-sensei") and who's only priority was her mission to assassinate Korosensei. Thanks to her high mission success rate and gorgeous appearance, she has a massive amount of self-confidence and her students has described her as giving off a mature, black widow vibe.
While putting up a facade of being calm and collected, Irina is soon revealed to actually be very childish and socially clueless with insecurities she has had since she was a child. While having an arrogant exterior, she is quite humble in actuality and can even be earnest, even being able to bond with her students after putting her ego aside. She has a massive amount of perseverance and isn't the kind of person to back down easily.
Powers/Abilities[]
- Infiltration Skills: As an infiltration assassin, Irina's skills at sneaking into her target's inner circles are next to none, with many of said efforts from her being her penetrating the highest security and killing/trapping her targets when they are alone at point-blank range with little to no effort. To do so, she often finds herself having to adopt different personalities in order to successfully invade whatever situations are required in order to complete her mission.
- Kiss of Death: Irina learned the "Kiss of Death" technique from Olga, an ability that allowed her to acquire several "Hits" off of others via indiscriminate French kisses, something she went on to teach her students (most notably Nagisa).
- Planning: A trait that's considered to be one of Irina's greatest talents alongside her seduction skills. She is capable of formulating highly complex plans on her own for her schemes, complete with backups for any obstacle she may face in the process. These tactics of hers ensure her targets have little to no chance of survival.
- Martial Arts Competence/Weaponry Master: Being an highly competent and accomplished assassin, Irina is a master at handling weapons from firearms to melee weapons with ease, apart of being able of setting up complex trigger traps during her attempt to kill Korosensei. She also has some prevalent martial arts skills in spite of being severely under-skilled when compared to others like Tadaomi Karasuma due to her position as an assassin coming first.
- Musician: Irina is a skilled piano player who is capable of attracting the attention of others through the most minuscule of body movements while performing.
- Multilingualism: Being fluent in 10 different languages, Irina is a master linguist. She often combines these skills with her master infiltration abilities to extract as much information from her targets as she can.
