Its been a long time "Feenie".
~ Iris revealing she was the one who was dating Phoenix.

Iris (Japanese: Ayame) is a major character in "Bridge To The Turnabout" from the 2004 video game Ace Attorney: Trials And Tribulations. She is a nun who with Bikini are the only ones on the mountain as she is trying to repent for her past sins.

In the anime, she was voiced by Rina Satō in Japanese and Dani Chambers in English.

History[]

Before the Events of Bridge To The Turnabout[]

In October 2013, Dahlia Hawthorne came up with a plan to kill Phoenix Wright in order to get back the incriminating evidence of her poisoning Diego Armando. However, Iris convinced her that she would pose as Dahlia herself towards Phoenix in order to retrieve the glass necklace with poison inside of it. For the past 6 months Iris attempted to get the necklace back but never succeeded as she felt bad for taking something away from Phoenix that he admires so much causing Dahlia to finally become impatient and attempt to kill Phoenix but this backfired and Dahlia was proven guilty in court and sentenced to death for her crimes. After this Iris decided to go back to the mountain and work as a nun to repent for her mistakes.

Bridge To The Turnabout[]

In February 2019, Iris ran into Phoenix Wright again however she could not reveal herself as he did not know she existed. After talking with him, she went to help Godot with preventing Maya from being killed by Dahlia's spirit being channeled by Pearl Fey but the bridge had caught on fire and Godot told her to take Elise Deauxnim's body and stab it with the schichishito in order to fake the murder weapon as she had channeled Dahlia's spirit instead of Pearl.

Iris successfully takes the murder weapon but is caught in the act by Bikini who wakes everyone up and asks Phoenix to call the police. Iris is arrested and taken to the detention center but is greeted by Miles Edgeworth who is acting in Phoenix's place while he recover's from his cold. Iris decides to lie about her involvement saying that she was ringing the bell and that she did not go to the bridge. Edgeworth remains slightly distrustful as he has to ask her twice if she killed anyone but the magatama did not go off either times proving she did not directly kill Elise.

After her first trial her assistance is requested in order to remove a trick lock that has been placed on the door to the cave next to the training hall. Edgeworth was responsible for escorting her but due to an earthquake he passes out and Dahlia tells Iris to swap with her so that she can break into the cave and lock Iris in there to prevent suspicion and to fool Phoenix into believing that she is the real Iris. After a lengthy trial Iris comes up to the stand revealing that she is the real Iris Fey and that she is willing to accept the punishment for her involvement in the murder. Before she leaves she asks to say one more thing which is to reveal to Phoenix that she was the one who truly dated him for 6 months and that him and Dahlia never knew each other. Phoenix tells her that she was always the person he thought she was which causes her to tear up and she then thanks Phoenix for believing in her.

Personality[]

Iris is basically everything what her twin sister, Dahlia, pretended to be. She was a meek and kind but also a weak-willed individual who always let others control what she did, which lead to her assisting Dahlia with a lot of her crimes with only refusing to take part in the diamond ransom and she refused to help kill Phoenix as she fell in love with him for real. She is very approachable and polite but incredibly naive at the same time, which causes her to be blackmailed and be promptly arrested for the murder and for taking part in it.
