History[]

Appearance[]

Iris is an attractive young adult woman in her early 20s with long crismson red colored hair and her vivid red eyes. She is commonly dressed in a knight's uniform, which is a dark violet with light trim and lacks a cape, which includes black shoulder straps and cuffs that are folded back to about one-third of her arm. She accessorizes with white gloves, a black shirt that matches her uniform's trim, and a ruby-like gem with a ribbon necktie that integrates into her outfit. Iris wears white tights and knee-high heeled boots with single-tie laces and folded collars. Her sword is seen at her waist. Following the Black Rose incident, Iris switched to a more formal Crimson Order uniform and added a braid in her hair, along with small jewelry in a lock of hair. Her new uniform is gray with black trims and a crimson interior. A black detachable cape with red lining rests on her shoulders, secured by two crimson braided cords connecting from the left breast pocket to the shoulder's rank strap. She sports a green-colored gem with a single dark velvet ribbon necktie that stretches down into her uniform, complemented by red buttons with black borders. The right side of her uniform lifts slightly to reveal the bottom of the waistcoat, colored black with red lining to match the cape. She retains her white gloves and trousers, but her knee-high heeled boots are now recolored to match her uniform.

Personality[]

Iris is a stern and dedicated swordswoman committed to safeguarding her kingdom. Esteemed both within her realm and globally, bearing great bravery, diligence, and pride. From early in her life, Iris was celebrated for her skills and achievements, earning the admiration of her people and becoming a symbol of Midgar's strength and pride. She strives to meet the high expectations set by her father and her subjects, representing hope, protection, power, and triumph. Despite her dedication, the pressure of these expectations significantly affects her mental well-being. Regardless of her royal status as a princess, Iris struggles with lack skills required to lead the Crimson Order in the effective way matter. She openly recognizes her sister's superior abilities and suggests that she would be more capable in managing the organization. Her pride sometimes blinds her to the existence of beings stronger than herself. This is evident when she overestimated her ability to defeat Shadow, denying the reality of his overwhelming power until she was easily defeated by him.

She sported a uniform primarily in gray, accented with black trims and a striking crimson interior, comprised of a black detachable cape with red lining, fastened by crimson braided cords connecting from the left breast pocket to the shoulder's rank strap. A green gem with a dark velvet ribbon necktie adds a touch of elegance, and the uniform features red buttons with black borders. The right side of the uniform is slightly lifted to showcase a black waistcoat with red lining, coordinating with the cape. Her knee-high heeled boots are now recolored to align with the uniform’s palette.

After the debacle with the Cult and realizing that Shadow Garden, despite their strength and secrecy, do not manipulate or cause mass death like the Cult (specifically the Fenrir Branch), Iris releases her obsessive focus on defeating Shadow. She slips into a period of depression and self-reflection, grappling with her sense of inadequacy and the crushing weight of her responsibilities.
