Iris Wilson is a character in The Great Ace Attorney. At just 10 years old, she is a child genius, having a medical PhD, and being the publisher of "The Adventures of Herlock Sholmes". She is the daughter of John H. Wilson, and lives with Herlock Sholmes at 221B Baker Street. Unfortunately, while he's on a trip to Japan, her father is murdered by a fellow visiting Briton, and the Japanese university student Ryunosuke Naruhodo is falsely accused of his murder.
After his acquittal and subsequent journey to Great Britain to become a lawyer, Ryunosuke had a run in with Herlock, and ultimately ended up befriending both him and Iris, who allowed him to set up residence in the 221B attic. She aided him during one of his cases when he was defending her new friend Gina Lestrade, who was accused of the murders of two men, plus the non-lethal shooting of Holmes.
Personality[]
Iris is a 10-year-old genius with remarkable deductive abilities, that rival those of most adults. It is often stated that it is easy to forget that she is only a child, as she speaks and thinks with the maturity and knowledge of a grown up. However, despite her genius, she still very much acts like a child. Her most notable childish trait is her tendency to get excited, particularly when she has something exciting to tell, and her desire to cry over bad news.
Despite this, Iris's maturity, and ingenuity, often surprises those around her. During Gina's trial, Iris was able to spot and point out a loophole in the legal proceedings that allowed Ryunosuke to continue his summation examination of the jury, an accomplishment which the presiding judge described as a 'shrewd precis of the situation'. Ryunosuke himself would later go on to remember and utilise the same loophole later in that trial, to allow himself to continue a cross-examination, even after the jury had come to their decision. Ryunosuke once said of Iris that as a 10-year-old, she makes him feel like a five-year-old, in comparison.
