Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart, is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Okoye) of the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and the titular main protagonist of the upcoming Disney+ streaming miniseries of the same name.

She is portrayed by Dominique Thorne.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Riri Williams was an MIT student who was born in the early-mid 2000s to Demetrius and Ronnie Williams. She is also a gifted inventor who created various cutting edge designs, including a flying suit of armor based on one of Iron Man's suits. In 2018, Riri survived the snap inflicted by Thanos.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever[]

In 2025, while one of her own projects was used by the CIA to find vibranium outside Wakanda, Riri suddenly finds herself threatened by Namor and his people since it's revealed that her invention had actually put his underwater kingdom Talokan in danger of being exposed to the surface world. Now targeted by both Talokanil and the United States, Riri is approached by Shuri and the people of Wakanda, later starting a war between Wakanda and Talokan. During the final battle, Riri helped the Wakandan army using a newfound armor that she created with Wakandan technology before returning to the U.S. afterwards.

She is the second superhero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be an inventor, the first being Iron Man.
This is the first live-action depiction of the character.
In the comics, Riri Williams was a young MIT student who managed to reverse-engineer Iron Man technology and create her own suit of armor, becoming known as Ironheart.
