Jacqueline "Jackie" O'Lantern Dupré is one of the supporting characters of the manga/anime series Soul Eater and is Kim Diehl's weapon partner.

She is voiced by Kanae Oki in the Japanese version and Jad Saxton in the English version.

Appearance[]

She have brown eyes and hair.

She takes the form of a square hand lantern that Kim wields like a flamethrower in battle, and can extend her handle to serve as an airborne mode of transportation.

Personality[]

In Soul Eater Not!, Kim is shown to befriend Jacqueline, one of her bully victims, after the latter discovers her witch identity and helps keep it a secret. In the main manga series, Kim's identity is exposed by Medusa, causing her and Jacqueline to flee DWMA together and reluctantly join Arachnophobia for protection. They are brainwashed into serving the organization, but are later returned to normal by Ox and Harvar and allowed to return to DWMA.

The anime version of Not! shows Jacqueline is not just a friend and confidant to Kim, but is secretly in love with her. She has a dream of confronting Kim over trying to end their weapon-meister partnership, only to become smitten with her face and move in for a kiss.

Jacqueline's name is derived from jack-o-lanterns and the renowned English cellist, Jacqueline Mary du Pré.
- Befitting, in lantern form, the lip opens to reveal a 🎃 jack-o-lantern face shape for the flames to come out.
Jacqueline is so in sync with Kim, that their soul wavelengths are harmonious enough to allow them to fly; with Jacqueline acting as a stand-in for a Witch's broom after Kim adds an extendable handle to her weapon form.
Jacqueline doesnt need to turn her entire body into her weapon form; just her forearm is enough, minus the handle.
Jacqueline loosens up from her straight-laced and proper self thanks to Kim' influence and Aher own to devotion. Reflected in that Jacqueline lets her hair down after NOT! and starts wearing matching clothes with Kim.
