| ~ Jaguar to Pickle Rick |
Jaguar is the secondary antagonist of the Rick and Morty episode Pickle Rick.
He is a dangerous freedom fighter who was recruited by a corrupt Russian agency to assassinate Pickle Rick for the release of his daughter, Katarina.
He was voiced by Danny Trejo, who also portrayed Machete in the Spy Kids films.
Physical Appearance[]
Jaguar is a muscular man with shaggy black and 5 o'clock shadow. He also has a slightly dark tan complexion and a unibrow. Jaguar wears a tight, black bodysuit, enhancing his action-hero look.
Story[]
Jaguar appears as a hardened freedom fighter imprisoned in Russia, who fights Pickle Rick to earn freedom for his daughter, Katarina. After realizing their shared goal of family (Rick's daughter Beth, Jaguar's Katarina) and being deceived by the agency director (who had already killed Katarina), they form an alliance. They take revenge on the director, and Jaguar tells Rick to tell Beth he loves her before they part ways.
He reappears in the episode's chaotic finale (part of the same story arc with The Vindicators) to save Rick and Morty from the villain Concerto, demonstrating a debt repaid for Rick's earlier mercy.
Abilities[]
Jaguar uses his agility and marksmanship to combat Pickle Rick.
Jaguar is a peak-human assassin with incredible combat skills, weapon mastery (guns, knives), superhuman stamina, agility, and tactical genius, enhanced by a flight suit and tech, capable of taking on super-science threats like Pickle Rick, making him a formidable, albeit human, fighter in a multiverse of aliens and robots.
Personality[]
Jaguar is a hyper-competent, stoic, family-oriented rebel fighter who was driven by the singular goal of freeing his daughter, Katarina, from an oppressive regime, leading him to initially fight Pickle Rick for freedom but eventually join forces with him, embodying a warrior code where family (and freedom) trumps all, despite his lethal skills. His personality is defined by fierce loyalty, intense focus, and a tragic devotion to his child, contrasting with Rick's nihilism.
Trivia[]
- When Jaguar does a split during the fight scene, it’s an homage to Jean Claude Van Damme’s ability to perform them in his movies, particularly the kitchen fight in Timecop.
- Jaguar is a parody of various action heroes such as The Punisher, Batman, and John Wick.
