History[]
While investigating Identicon Corporation, a botanical research firm in Hong Kong suspected of smuggling weapons, CIA agent Zoe Nightshade is captured. James Bond infiltrates the facility to rescue her and recover a suspicious courier case. After freeing her from a submarine, the two escape with the case. Chased through Hong Kong, they steal a second case of vials before meeting Q Branch liaison R, who equips Bond with a BMW Z8. An assassin kills Zoe with an RPG and steals the case, leading Bond to retrieve it after stopping an armored van.
The vials contain blood samples, including those of eight world leaders and British diplomat Reginald Griffin, stationed in Romania. Investigating Griffin, Bond finds him dead, fights his doppelganger, and uncovers links to Malprave Industries in Switzerland. Disguised as a journalist, Bond discovers CEO Adrian Malprave’s involvement in cloning and escapes with evidence.
Bond learns Dr. Natalya Damescu, a former Malprave employee, holds key information. Terrorist Carla the Jackal raids the British embassy in Bucharest, but Bond protects Damescu, retrieves data on "Poseidon," and tracks it to an underwater cloning lab. After destroying the lab, Bond boards a submarine heading to a Royal Navy aircraft carrier, where he discovers the cloning of world leaders. Bond destroys the clones and escapes with Zoe, who reveals her earlier "rescue" was a ploy by a clone meant to infiltrate the CIA.
The duo heads to Malprave's Swiss base, rescuing the real world leaders. Bond confronts Malprave and Bloch, killing Bloch and escaping as the base self-destructs. Malprave perishes in the explosion, ending her cloning scheme.
