~ Jamie Siu

Jamie Siu, also known as the Peacekeeping Breakdancer, is the major supporting character from the Street Fighter games. He makes his debut as the first new character in Street Fighter 6, representing as Luke's rival and in relation to Yun & Yang as his cousins.

He is voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi in Japanese and Stephen Fu in English.

Biography[]

Background[]

Jamie is a kung-fu practitioner from Hong Kong. He was inspired by the twins Yun and Yang to become a protector of his home in Chinatown. An expert dancer, Jamie places justice and friendship above all else, defending his town with martial skill. His fighting style is based on Zuì Quán with a bit of breakdancing thrown in for flair.

Street Fighter 6[]

While walking through the Hong Hu Lu Chinatown area of Metro City, Jamie address his role models Yun & Yang in his narration. He assures them that, even in their absence from Metro City, life continues to run smoothly. Jamie introduces himself to the player as the "peacekeeper" of his hometown, taking care of those "lookin' to stir up trouble". Jamie's brief exchange with an audibly nervous gang member appears to support his reputation. Jamie explains that some people are "tryin' to cause problems", while other simply "just wanna prove how bad they are". As a result, he's eager to dutifully protect his hometown and with violence, if necessary.

While claiming that he is not too "full of [himself]", Jamie boasts about his own fighting prowess. He clarifies that he doesn't wish to be the strongest, akin to "some kid lookin' to be the king of the jungle gym", but trains out of determination to follow in Yun & Yang's footsteps.

As Jamie continues his stroll, he and Luke accidentally bump into each other. Luke breaks the tense silence by accusing Jamie of purposely running into him, enraging the latter. The two begin to fight.

The outcome of the match only escalates their quarreling. Jamie continues his narration, stating that he'll occasionally encounter someone who inexplicably makes his blood boil. Though he acknowledges Yun and Yang's presumed mocking from these actions, Jamie can't resist a childish scrap with someone he claims he "can't afford to lose to" (in this case, Luke).

As the cutscene ends by panning skyward, Jamie and Luke continue trash talking off-screen, their barbs devolving into schoolyard insults faintly heard in the distance.

Abilities[]

Jamie Zui Quan

Jamie uses Zui Quan to defeat the Canary Crate Gang easily.

Jamie was taught a unique form of drunken boxing by his grandma, one of the masters and founders of such discipline, and eventually became the pride of her and the other elders. He then went even further and integrated breakdancing into his fighting style, effectively shaping a new and personal variation. Although he isn't at the end of his path yet, Jamie is already capable of taking on students such as the Player and pass down his knowledge and skills onto them. He is a responsible and respected peacekeeper in Metro City, to the point that some people would be scared merely by knowing that their opponent has been trained by him.

Physical Appearance[]

Jamie has a tan skin complexion. His hair is styled in a benpatsu with the underside of his hair shaven in an undercut, not too dissimilar to Luke's regular hairstyle. The braid becomes undone at maximum drink level, with Jamie's hair flowing wildly.

His normal outfit is a modernized kung-fu outfit, consisting of a yellow top designed like a hoodie with red drawstrings and white trims, matching yellow pants, a brown rope belt and greyish sneakers with white soles. He also carries a small black gourd with a red rope tie on said belt.

Personality[]

Fancying himself the protector of his hometown, Jamie is an upbeat fun-loving young man who thinks highly of himself, but shows respect for his elders, namely his grandmother and Chun-Li. He enjoys helping others, and asks Ken and Juri if he could help them with their personal issues. In his arcade story and the end of Luke's arcade story, he idolizes his cousins Yun and Yang when to protect and dealing disputes in his own town as their peacekeeper. He can also shown to be irrational and angry upon encountering his rival Luke, leading both to have a petty fight. Although, his petty fight with Luke might also forgot his role as a peacekeeper of his own town and considering dishonorable from his cousins.
