Biography[]
Background[]
Little is known of Jaro Tapal's past, but he was born force sensitive and joined the Jedi Order under the mentorship of Master Yaddle. Eventually, he became a Jedi master himself and Jedi general during the Clone Wars. Around this point, he became the mentor to the padawan Cal Kestis.
Order 66 and Death[]
While onboard the Albedo Brave, Jaro sensed the Clone Troopers betray the Jedi as Emperor Palpatine executed Order 66 against the order. Fearing for the safety of his padawan, Tapal assisted Cal in reaching a escape pod despite separating from the latter. While heading to the escape pods, the Lasalt sabotaged the warship's reactor to prevent the clones from locating them. During the escape, Jaro was wounded from the mass amount of Clone Troopers, but was able to give Kestis his damaged lightsaber and advice before dying. Tapal's death deeply traumatized the apprentice, as Cal's connection to the force was damaged and had to remain in hiding due to the rise of the Empire.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order[]
During Cal's journey, he recalls his past training with Tapal, allowing his connection to the force to return. While on Dathomir, the Jedi Master appears as an apparition and duels Kestis twice, but the latter is able to move past his mentor's death once he reconstructed his lightsaber.
