Jason Elliot Jonah Sims is the deuteragonist of the 2004 Danish Animated Film Terkel In Trouble, and a cameo character in the 2018 film Checkered Ninja. He is the best friend of Terkel Mogensen, and the brother of Fat Doris, who initially mistreats a girl Johanna who actually has a crush on him, but he only starts to develop an interest in her once she is tired of how he treated her and insulted him.
He is voiced by Anders Matthesen in the Danish version, and Ben Bishop in the UK Dub.
Biography[]
He first appears in the movie by meeting with Terkel and going to school with him, he showed Terkel the iron pipe he had on his backpack. When he sees Johanna fall down and cause her books to fall, Jason insults and walks over her. He would go to the class where Justin introduces himself to the class, being glad that their former teacher Ivan wouldn't be teaching them anymore due to her being dead.
He and Terkel would later go watch a horror film at night, and while Terkel was obviously scared by it, he faked enjoying it due to Jason liking it. Jason would later tell Terkel that he shouldn't spend time with Nigel and Saki due to the fact that they were using him and that they bullied Terkel in the past.
Jason would later go to the woods, where he saw Johanna, with her telling her to leave her and die, while also insulting Jason's mother, being tired of how Jason treated her despite her trying to express his feelings for him. Ironically, those insults and words actually made Jason fall in love with her.
While Terkel believed that Jason was the one who made bloody messages and threats to him and was trying to kill him, but it was revealed that it was their teacher Justin who was trying to kill him because of Terkel accidentally killing a spider at school, and when Justin was about to choke Terkel to death, Jason hits the former with his iron pipe, saving Terkel.
Justin, however, was able to survive and tried to kill Terkel and Jason, and while Jason was fighting Justin, Terkel tried to find the pipe to kill Justin, but Justin was able to throw it in the air, although it falls right into Justin, killing him. Jason would then forgive Terkel for indirectly causing his sister's suicide, and the two go to see Johanna.
Personality[]
Jason has a habit of writing things in his bag, and likes horror movies, particularly their violent parts, some of which are so gruesome that even shock Terkel (although Terkel also is afraid of any type of violence). Jason is also shown to initially and constantly insulting Johanna for little to no reason, and only starting to like her when she had enough of his cruelty and insulted him and his mother.
Jason apparently has masochistic traits, as he seems to have liked Johanna insulting him, and imagined her beating him up with his iron pipe. Despite all of Jason's flaws, he is truly a good friend, who is willing to protect Terkel from those who hurt or try to kill him and forgave him even though he indirectly caused his sister Doris' suicide, although he doesn't seem to care much about it.
Trivia[]
- An older Jason makes a brief cameo in Checkered Ninja as a background character.
