Jaspers (full name unknown) is a minor antagonist in the Prologue mission of Grand Theft Auto V. He is a security guard for Bobcat Security in North Yankton.
He was voiced by Matt Holm.
Biography[]
Jaspers makes his first and only appearance in the mission Prologue, where he is killed just seconds after being introduced.
He is present during the heist at Bobcat Security, carried out by Trevor Philips, Michael Townley, Brad Snider, and the Getaway Driver. As the crew exits the vault, Jaspers tries to apprehend Michael, pulling off his balaclava, holding him at gunpoint, and threatening to kill him if he doesn't surrender. Michael tries to talk him down, using a movie quote that later becomes important in the main story. Before Jaspers can act, Trevor shoots him in the head, killing him instantly.

Trivia[]
- Given the Prologue takes place in 2004, this makes Jaspers the first character to be killed on-screen in the HD Universe, chronologically.
- The player must kill him with a single bullet—any attempt to shoot him elsewhere, even to disarm him, will cause him to shoot Michael in the head, failing the mission.
- If the player waits after the guard takes Michael hostage, Michael will try to reason with him. The guard simply asks Trevor to lower his weapon, but Trevor refuses, saying, "Ain't gonna happen, pal."
- The name "Jaspers" is of Persian origin and means "keeper" or "protector of treasure." This could be an easter egg by Rockstar, as Jaspers is guarding the money in the vault, making him a literal "protector of treasure."
