“ | Osha: Hey, Padawan. You could try repolarizing the power couplings. Jecki: Thanks. You must be a pilot, then? Osha: No. I’m a meknek. Jecki: Wow. That’s dangerous. I thought that only R2 droids did the outer ship work. Osha: Well, any astromech can do the job. But I’m better company than a droid. And, um, way more flexible. [Pip warbling] I’m sorry, Pip. Uh… Pip is also very flexible. Jecki: Mm. |

Jecki Lon is the tritagonist of the Disney+ 2024 live-action series, The Acolyte.
She is a Jedi apprentice from the High Republic era investigating sudden Jedi murders. Jecki is also the current Padawan of Jedi Master Sol.
She is portrayed by Dafne Keen, who also played X-23 in Logan and Lyra Silvertongue in the television adaptation of His Dark Materials.
Personality[]
“ | Jecki: Permission to speak freely? Sol: You don’t need to keep asking. |
„ |
Particularly calm and mature for her young age, Jecki is a pragmatic and somewhat rigid young girl, in the common Jedi way, but she remains very polite towards everyone. She is the type to get straight to the point and be serious in most circumstances. Her way of solving problems is through analytics and diplomacy when strength is not required. Out of respect, she prefers to ask to speak frankly when she wants to ask a personal question, especially towards Sol whom she greatly admires.
In addition to her serious side, Jecki is quite a curious person, generally trying to understand the way of thinking of others when it is not obvious to her. She is also capable of humor and sociability, sometimes playfully teasing fellow Jedi Yord and befriending Osha quite easily despite their first meeting not being the most cordial. On a few occasions, Jecki showed herself to be particularly intelligent and inventive, capable of developing a good strategy based on improvisation. Shortly after the mission on Olega, the friendship between Jecki and Osha further developed.
Physical appearance[]
Theelin-human hybrid, Jecki with six horns on each side of the head, white skin with red or yellow markings spotted on several parts of her body, especially around her brown eyes without eyebrows. Small in stature, she is stocky, in good health, with strong shoulders and not thin, she is a little close to the size of Osha.
She wears a Jedi outfit mixing light brown and beige colors, a large black belt with brown and brick lines around her stomach which she uses to carry her lightsaber. She wears either a white cape or a traditional Jedi cloak depending on the situation.
Powers and Abilities[]
- The Force: Jecki was born Force sensitive, making her capable of manipulating this field of energy passing through all life.
- Expert Lightsaber Combatant: Jecki was trained in lightsaber combat as all Jedi are, and was uncharacteristically skilled for a padawan. She was able to hold her own against a Sith Lord for longer than her compatriots, some of them fully knights and masters, had been able to; she only lost because the Stranger used the unorthodox technique of Tràkata, rapid lightsaber deactivation and reactivation that caught her by surprise, as opposed to overwhelming her like the others.
- Pilot: Jecki knows how to pilot the Polan-717.
- Expert hand-to-hand combatant: Jecki proved to be a formidable fighter in unarmed combat, even a match for Mae who is a dangerous assassin and ultimately got the better of her.
History[]
In 132 BBY, at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant during the High Republic era, Jecki goes to Sol to inform him that Jedi Master Vernestra Rwoh is requesting a meeting with him. She also asks why Sol keeps holograms of his former Padawan, Osha Aniseya, judging that memories can be emotional hindrances. Sol replies that memories are important lessons that prevent us from repeating past mistakes, a lesson that Jecki remembers. Later, Jecki is assigned with Sol to her first real mission, consisting of finding Osha on the planet Carlac following the crash of the prison ship she was on since she was accused of the murder of Jedi Master Indara. Jecki is also surprised that Yord Fandard accompanies them, although she assures her master that there is no problem with Yord. Upon their encounter aboard Polan-717, Jecki finds herself face to face with a shirtless Yord, to the discomfort of both.
In hyperspace, Jecki remains intrigued by Sol and Osha's relationship, leading her to ask the question. She learns in particular that Osha had a twin sister named Mae, a detail she did not know but Sol claims to be sure that Mae did indeed die sixteen years ago. Once the trio lands on Carlac, they inspect the wreckage of the prison ship and Jecki is quickly convinced that someone was here, although Yord does not think it is Osha. Sol is able to sense Osha's presence and guides the group through the local caverns and eventually finds Osha. Through the interaction between Sol and Osha, still strong despite the distance, it is revealed that Mae still lives and is responsible for Indara's murder.
Later, Jecki tries to restart the Polan-717's engines and an Osha who was napping nearby offers to advise him to repolarize the power couplers, which Jecki subsequently does and works. The two girls then begin to chat amicably. Vernestra subsequently assigns a new mission to the group, traveling to Olega to investigate Mae's presence in the local Jedi Temple. Arriving there, Jecki questions a little boy involved in the break-in and obtains a confession linking Mae to the incident. In the temple, the Jedi find Jedi Master Torbin dead. Jecki notices that there are no signs of a struggle on Torbin's body, Sol realizes that Torbin drank the vial of poison found at the crime scene.
Going back to the only apothecary shop in town where the guy who runs it, Qimir, is not the real owner. Sol asks for suggestions and Yord proposes a pincer grip, only for Jecki to reject the plan and propose that Osha pose as Mae with an embedded listening device to trick Qimir into revealing his complicity in Torbin's murder. With Sol approving the plan, Osha comes to meet Qimir as Mae and the confession is quickly obtained, along with mention of the person Mae is really working for. The Jedi then surround the smuggler and in his cowardice, he reveals that Mae will return in the evening.
When the time comes, Jecki is stationed aboard Polan-717, waiting for Sol's signal. Yord thinks this is all too risky but Jecki tells him to follow Sol's directions. When Mae is spotted, Jecki begins to return to her position with the ship, while Sol confronts Mae. Jecki arrives just as Sol and Yord stop Mae from fleeing. Illuminating the assassin with Polan's spotlight, Jecki declares her under arrest in the name of the Senate of the Republic. Unfortunately, Mae escapes the trio by using the Force to create a sandstorm.
Back on Coruscant, Jecki trains with other Padawans in staff practice under Lakshay's supervision. The session finished, Jecki comes across Osha who came to say goodbye to her when she was planning to leave now that her innocence has been proven. Jecki senses that Osha still cares about Mae in some way, just for Osha to say she prefers Mae to be stopped. She nevertheless promises to come back to see Jecki if she returns to Coruscant.
Mae's next target being Kelnacca, located on Khofar, Jecki is part of the team of Jedi sent there, also accompanied by Osha convinced by Sol. Questioning the locals, Jecki finds Kelnacca's trail in the dangerous Khofar Forest. The group is guided by a tracking creature Bazil to search for the Wookie. Along the way, Jecki gives some advice to a conflicted Osha about her feelings towards Mae, telling her that we are not defined by what we have lost but by what we survive. Finally finding Kelnacca's lair, they are suddenly caught off guard by a mysterious figure in black armor and a red lightsaber appearing from behind and engages the Jedi in combat.
Jecki quickly recovers from a powerful Force-Push and confronts Mae in hand-to-hand combat without using her lightsaber. Despite the dagger-wielding assassin, Jecki is able to beat her and handcuff her, only to be briefly confronted by the man who is actually Mae's master. Helped by Sol, Jecki puts pressure on The Master and manages to knock over his metal helmet, unfortunately so that he draws a hidden lightsaber and disembowels Jecki three times in the chest. She has time to see the face of the practitioner of the dark side before dying.
Her and her colleagues' deaths were ultimately pinned on Sol after his murder, so to prevent the spread of knowledge of a powerful dark side wielder being at large and to protect Osha from consequences of her murdering him and her defection to the Sith.
