Jennifer is a supporting character from the 1995 video game Metal Gear. Jennifer was a member of the Resistance movement in Outer Heaven, South Africa.
History[]
Metal Gear[]
Jennifer managed to infiltrate Outer Heaven by posing as part of the medical staff, to rescue her older brother. During Operation Intrude N313, Solid Snake learned of Jennifer's radio frequency from one of the POWs that he rescued. However, Snake first needed to gain her trust by rescuing the other POWs within the fortress.
Jennifer then provided internal support to Snake, firstly by preparing a RPG-7V rocket launcher for him to use against the "Bloody Brad" cyberoids. Later, she unlocked a room for Snake containing a compass, and covertly supplied him with an antidote, both of which were necessary for navigating the northern desert to reach Metal Gear's hangar. In return, Snake managed to save her brother from the mercenary Dirty Duck. During Snake's final battle against Big Boss, Jennifer urged him to come back alive.
Snake's Revenge[]
In the non-canon sequel Snake's Revenge, a version of Jennifer features as a supporting character. Three years after the vents of Metal Gear, Jennifer worked as a double agent for both FOXHOUND and a terrorist group. Eventually, she ended up having her cover blown by the terrorist group, an action that resulted in Nick Myer's death. Snake managed to save Jennifer before he went on to destroy Metal Gear 2.
Trivia[]
Jennifer may have inspired Amanda of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, who was also part of a resistance, and has a brother.
