She is voiced by Ali Wong.

Appearance[]

Jentry is a Taiwanese-American girl with white skin, slanted brown eyes and semi-short hair which is originally black but she dyed it to platinum blonde.

Biography[]

As her 16th birthday approaches, a not-so-average teen rediscovers the fiery powers she's long suppressed and is forced to face her demons, literally.

History[]

Early life:

Jentry was born on October 14, 2008, to Peng and Moonie Chau, Chinese telemarketers from Texas. But her parents, to ensure her future, decided to step into the shady world of the trading of magical items, mostly stealing from Jentry's great aunt, Flora, (or as Jentry calls it, Gugu), who was a Taoist priestess who is well-versed in all kinds of magic. When she was about 1 year old, her parents made a deal with Mr. Cheng, a man who made a deal with a mogui, a chi-eating demon, wanting to revive his long-lost daughter, that they would steal the Robe of the Yellow Emperor for anything they want. Everything went great until Flora caught them in the act, and as not to give that kind of power to Cheng, she used an artifact to transfer the robe's power into Jentry. But this meant Cheng didn't accept the now ordinary piece of clothing, and went for baby Jentry. He killed Peng, and Gugu decided to stall for time with her promising to find another way to help Cheng, but as a counterbalance, Cheng promised to leave Jentry alone until her 16th birthday. And to ensure the deal is sealed, Cheng wiped Moonie's memories, and disappeared into the darkness. Moonie, upon waking up, ran away, leaving her now dead husband, alive daughter and Gugu behind.

The Demon Girl of Riverfork:

Gugu decided to take in the now orphaned Jentry. She cared for her when she was sick, bringing her to her parents' grave from time to time, and raising her. In her childhood, Jentry befriended Michael Olé, a boy with Nigerian heritage. But one day when she was 8, she saw a woman resembling Moonie, who akwardly backed away. This made her really tense and confused, which activated her powers, causing a huge fire, that luckily killed no one. Footage of her standing, surronded by flames and crying was captured, and she was dubbed "The Demon Girl of Riverfork". Gugu, knowing the consequences, sent her away to boarding school, and later, she wound up at the Art School in Seoul, South Korea.
