~ Jigoro to Zenitsu |
Jigoro Kuwajima (桑島 慈悟郎, Kuwajima Jigorō) is a supporting protagonist of the popular manga and anime series, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. He is a former member of the Demon Slayer Corps, the previous Thunder Hashira and the former mentor of Zenitsu Agatsuma and Kaigaku.
He was voiced by Shigeru Chiba in Japanese and by John DeMita in English.
Appearance[]
Jigoro is a short old man with white hair and mustache and often has an angry expression. He has a scar under his left eye, wrinkles. During a period in the past, he possibly lost his right leg while fighting as a demon slayer, which is then replaced by a wooden stick.
He was seen wearing a yellow kimono decorated with white triangles and carried a wooden cane to help him walk.
Personality[]
Jigoro appears on the surface to be an arrogant and strict individual, but he actually deeply cares about his students like Zenitsu Agatsuma and Kaigaku. According to Zenitsu, Jigoro never gave up on him to make him stronger and a better swordsman.
He took care of Zenitsu like he was his grandson, saved him many times and showed unlimited patience while training the boy despite his cowardless and laziness. He also had a lot of faith in his students until he learned that one of them, Kaigaku, had betrayed the Demon Slayers by becoming a Demon and accepting the offer from Kokushibo.
