Jim, aka "The Waco Kid" is the deuteragonist of "Blazing Saddles". He was portrayed by the late Gene Wilder who also portrayed Willy Wonka and Dr. Frederick Frankenstein.
History[]
Jim is first seen inside the jail cell at the Sheriff's Office just as Bart enters after being ridiculed by the citizens of Rock Ridge. Unlike most of the citizens, Jim is much nicer to Bart and becomes his best friend and deputy. Apparently, when he was younger he was known as "The Waco Kid", a famous gunslinger until he was publicly humiliated when a young boy poked a toy gun behind his back and he thought it was another cowboy. This would explain why he took pity on Bart because he knew what it was like to be rejected.
