Johanna Mason is a major character and anti-heroine from Suzanne Collins's novel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, as well as their film adaptations.
She was the female tribute for District 7, and the winner of the 71st Hunger Games. She and Katniss partner up in the Quarter Quell.
She was portrayed by Jena Malone.
Personality[]
In an earlier Hunger Games, Johanna Mason was known as helpless. She used the trick to kill the tributes and win the 71st Hunger Games. Aside from that, Johanna seems to be sophisticated, as she wanted to throw an axe at her stylist's face for dressing her in a tree costume, which her district wore for 40 years then. She shakes it off, by stripping in front of Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and Haymitch Abernathy in an elevator. She leaves with a smirk on her face and tells them "let's do it again sometime".
In an interview, Johanna is angered that The Capitol chose to bring her back to the arena, even though she was promised to be left alone when she won the Hunger Games. This endues Johanna to curse out the capitol.
