John Booker Routledge, called also simply John B, or sometimes JB, is the main protagonist of the Netflix TV Show Outer Banks.

He is a charismatic and adventurous seventeen year old boy, born in 2003, in an island town near North Carolina, with his missing father, Big John, the one who found the Royal Merchant, full of gold and now he must succeed him, but he is always cornered and forced to live a criminal life of drugs and chases, since he has no one and is hindered by Ward Cameron, fortunately with many friends who always help him. He is the boyfriend of Sarah Cameron, the best friend of Kiara Carrera, Pope Heyward, JJ Maybank and Cleo Anderson, with whom they form the group The Pogues of which he is the leader.

He is portrayed by Chase Stokes.

Personality[]

John B is usually a boy, very caring, sweet, kind and altruistic, but towards those he dislikes he is quite unpleasant and lethal. He is shown to be protective towards his friends and family, also showing his immense loyalty. However, he is a bit of a control freak, as he gets angry easily when things don't go his way and when someone he loves is hurt and is also a bit crazy. He is a bit reckless and reckless, as he doesn't always have a plan in mind when needed and opts for the most dangerous choices like JJ, who is his best friend since from third grade, which often gets him into trouble. This also shows that sometimes he has stupid and weird and nonsensical ideas that also get him into trouble, such as throwing a rock at the motion censor lights. But sometimes he is very intelligent and reasonable.

Early years[]

John B was born and raised as an only child 'Pogue' on the rough Outer Banks, also known as 'The Cut'. His father raised him alone as his mother moved to Colorado when John B was 3. In elementary school he met his best friends who would form the group, The Pogues, Kiara Carrera, Pope Heyward and JJ Maybank. 9 months before the start of the series, John B's father disappeared at sea, since no one has found him, he was believed dead, but it was uncertain, and John B is convinced that he is alive, living after these events with his uncle, who however left a few months later to build houses in Mississippi.

Season 1[]

Throughout the season, John B with his best friends tries to find the Royal Merchant containing the gold, and also to find out if his father is alive. he is eventually adopted by Ward Cameron, although only to use him to get to the gold, of whom he falls in love with Sarah Cameron, which puts him in a bit of a crisis with his friends, since she is not a Pudge, but in the end, she becomes part of the group. When Wade accuses John B of having stabbed him in the arm, Sheriff Peterkin understands everything and tries to arrest him when he was about to leave with Sarah, but is killed by Sarah's older brother, Rafe, who had been kicked out and wanted to defend and prove that he was worthy of his father. Ward then accuses John B of the murder and the whole island hunts them, but John B manages to escape with Sarah from the island with a boat through a storm where they pretend to die and then are saved by a ship.
