John Casey (birthname Alexander Coburn) is the tritagonist in the action-comedy series Chuck. He is an NSA agent turned colonel and a member of Team Chuck. He is played by Adam Baldwin
Biography[]
Alexander "Alex" Coburn was a military soldier from Honduras in 1982. He met his with his commanding officer James Keller who offered him a position in the NSA, which Coburn accepts. As part of his recruitement, Coburn fakes his death and is renamed John Casey, leaving behind his fiancee Kathlenn Mchugh who gave birth to their daughter Alex shortly after.
20 years later, John Casey became a trained NSA agent and got promoted to colonel. He along with CIA's Sarah Walker was assigned to protect Nerd Herder Chuck Bartowski who accidentally uploaded a government computer called the Intersect in his head eventually forming Team Chuck .
Personality[]
Casey has a boistful anger and always dishes out disproportionate threats over the littlest of things (as Chuck puts it, Casey has an "anger center" and no "calm center"). He also has tremendous strength able to break off a radiator with his bare hands making him very threatening. He is very passionate about guns and hides them everywhere including his locker in the Buy More, and keeps a picture of Ronald Regan in his apartment.
Despite his threatening nature, Casey does care very much about his teammates and friends as he didn't want to kill Chuck which Genrenal Beckman assigned him to do after the Intersect is removed and even supports Chuck and Sarah's relationship. He is overprotective of his daughter Alex to the point where he threatened her boyfriend Morgan "you break her heart I break your everything!"
