John Cutter is the main protagonist of the 1992 action thriller film Passenger 57. He was a veteran of law enforcement who serves as the aviation security expert of the airline company Atlantic International.
He was portrayed by Wesley Snipes who also portrayed Blade.
Biography[]
Known for his tough stance against crimes of all variants (including white collar crime) and corruption, John Cutter has served an honorable career as a reputed police officer and was also a decorated combat veteran. At some point later, he joined the Secret Service.
One night during his tenure with the secret service, John Cutter and his wife Lisa were shopping for groceries when a robber held up the store. John confronted the robber trying to detain him, but the thief held Lisa at gunpoint before killing her. It ended with Cutter shooting the robber but lost his chances to save Lisa.
Haunted by the incident, he later retires from the Secret service and spends time in seclusion. At one point, he hears about Charles Rane's crimes and becomes determined to put an end to his scheme. Cutter launches a course specializing in training flight attendants in self-defense. After one class, Cutter is approached by an old friend, Sly Delvecchio, who offers Cutter the vice presidency of a new antiterrorism unit for his company, Atlantic International Airlines. Cutter is reluctant, but Delvecchio and the company's president, Stuart Ramsey, eventually convince him to accept the offer.
